We went with a group and they satisfied all of us. In fact we opted to go a second night since it was close to our hotel. We sat outside under the umbrellas at streeside. When it started to drizzle they graciously moved us inside. Fun waiters! Several of us had the pizza. It was a generous plateful... light on... More

Very nice place to eat and very good food (sea food, Greek food and delicious baclava) two minutes to Acropolis entrance. The staff is very friendly, helpful and the service is great, kindly recommended.

We loved this place. The guys that work there are such fun, they are big, must be the great food, with even bigger smiles and they will joke with you and there is such a great atmosphere and all just round the corner from the Acropolis. We kept going back and taking others and recommending it. Great food, worth the... More

Close the the entrance to both the Acropolis and the Acropolis museum. We only had breakfast there, but good and inexpensive.

We are here twice. George, the friendly, large man in front of the restaurant will give you a ticket for a free drink if you ask. The whole grilled fish is excellent.

This restaurant is located across the street from the New Acropolis Museum. Food was plentiful; service was excellent; prices were good. Highly recommend for lunch or dinner when you're in the area.

The food was great, the service was decent. However, the problem was at the end. We weren't shown our bill, only given the final cost and it was about $15 more than what we figure it should've been. They also asked us about a tip, which is a pet peeve of mine as I believe tips are earned and considering... More

My wife and I ate dinner here one night. The food was great and the service was superb. We would definitely eat here again when in Athens. The staff made us feel welcome and made our eating experience enjoyable.

Staying in Thissio / Makriyanni

Neighbourhood Profile
Thissio / Makriyanni
Named after the well-preserved Thission (ancient temple of Hephaestus), Thissio is blessed with a small wooded park and some less frenetic streets that offer numerous quieter places to stay and eat. Largely pedestrianised Apostolou Pavlou Street runs between the Acropolis and forested Filopappou Hill, well worth climbing for more great panoramas, until it merges with Dionysiou Areopagitou Street. This leads to the up-and-coming area of Makriyanni, whose centrepiece is the magnificent new Acropolis Museum. Opposite the museum is the entrance to the southern slopes of the Acropolis, while the eponymous metro station nearby is at the top of Makriyanni Street, another strip of touristic cafés and restaurants.
