Loved this restaurant. We visited every day of our 6 day holiday and tried a different thai dish each day. All were freshly cooked and tasted amazing. The staff who are a family are so welcoming, happy and efficient especially under these very uncertain times. Can’t recommend this place enough. And the fried bananas which are complimentary are delicious

Thank you Louis for many fantastic meals here. We love Thai food and in discovering this, Louis served us delicious and authentic food on every visit. On one occasion he recommended some specials to us (amongst others, huge prawns cooked in red curry paste and beautifully steamed fish in chilli garlic and lime). All of the food we ate at The Mother was outstanding but make sure to try the jungle curry if you love spicy food and also the Mango with sticky rice and banana fritters. Yum!

This is one of our go-to restaurants in Choeng Mon & we eat there regularly. Nui (probably the wrong spelling) & his wife & daughter run a great little restaurant which can cater for all tastes.
If you want authentic thai food, just tell them what you fancy & they will make it for you. Thai spicy or plain nothing is too much trouble for them & you will always receive the warmest of welcomes from them.

We had two fantastic meals here during our stay, the owners couldn’t do enough for us. We had fresh seafood cooked in various ways recommended by them and it was all amazing! So lovely and friendly towards the kids and gave us free desserts. Wouldn’t hesitate to recommend this lovely place and we’ll be back next year! Thank you Mother!

We continue to return to this restaurant. The food is delicious perfectly seasoned and no matter whether we have eaten , fresh fish , a Greek salad , or a margarita pizza it has always been perfectly cooked or prepared.If it’s not on their menu then ask because this is a restaurant which does their best to cook you something you want to eat. Value for money and highly recommended.

Terrific diner for two on a rainy evening! Very friendly and welcoming staff in a nice setting, every effort made to suit the clients. Remarkable: the staff even directed a young family in to the restaurant just to get them out of the heavy rain! Very good English, which comes in handy - adaptations to the menu, as my wife is a vegeterian, made on simpel request. Mouthwatering barbecued shrimps, straight out of the water fresh on the plate and my wife enjoyed a very nice curry Panang. A lot of western food on the menu too for those who want, but as the choice in authentic Thai food is large enough and adaptations are made on demand, we really recommend the authentic food. We will be back for the fresh lobster!! :-))

We tried a lot of places during our stay but this turned out to be our favorite.
The Thai food is fresh and delicious, the staff is very friendly and attentive. We visited several times and we were never disappointed. The restaurant also offers a variety of international dishes which we did not try.
I highly recommend this restaurant.

Stayed in the Chong Mon resort for a week at the Kimpton Hotel.
We ate at the hotel and a couple of the local restaurants before discovering ’The Mother’
We ended up eating here four nights on the trot and it was excellent every night.
All the staff are very attentive & welcoming and the owner, Mr NUI is on top of his game. He speaks good English and other languages too and is very helpful in advising, what to order.
All the food looks and tastes fantastic but the Grilled fresh fish (With Jacket potato) is as good as you will find anywhere, and definitely value for money!
We also sampled the local Thai dishes and weren’t disappointed by any.
Can get busy, due to its popularity but get a cold beer and watch the theatre unfold before you.
Keep up the good work and look forward to coming back at some point in the future.

The food here was fantastic - absolutely fresh, full of flavor, a real treat. The restaurant is family owned and like everywhere they are being hit hard by COVID, but all the staff were super friendly and couldn’t do enough to help us. A really wonderful experience of local Thai food (the massaman curry was superb and the squid with chili-lemon sauce was wonderful).

Dined for dinner. We shared fish cakes, penang chicken curry & vege fried rice. All the food was tasty & one of the cheapest Thai restaurants we ate at during our 2 week holiday in Samui. They also gave us a complimentary banana fritter & ice cream dessert. Staff friendly & welcoming.

Had a beautiful meal here this evening. Host could not have been more genuinely helpful and friendly. We walked past this place our first night here. What a mistake!
Asked for what is recommended and had the most superb Red Snapper (oddly accompanied by something described as ‘fish flavour’) but it was best meal yet by far!
Highly recommend.

Ate here one evening when we couldn’t find the place we had set out for and we’re so glad we did. We ended up returning on a further two occasions!
There are so many restaurants on the island serving good food but this did stand out for quality but was fantastic value also.
Run by a great friendly team. They have an extensive menu but can only vouch for the Thai food - it was authentic and stunning for flavour, quality and quantity.

I had this restaurant on my list after reading very good reviews on TA. We were not disappointed. The owner is a "character" in a very positive way. He is really welcoming and service minded with a very funny body language. Even though the restaurant was nearly full, there were no stress from the waiters. They were all smiling and service minded and you really got the welcoming feeling.
This is also a restaurant with an extensive menu, but that does not lower the quality of the food. We had spring rolls as starters and sweet ´n ´sour chicken with steamed rice for dinner. All very good. Then we received a dessert to share on the house. For all of this including 2 large Singha beers we paid around 700 bath. For us this were really a bargain.
If you visit Chong Mong you should definitely stop for lunch or dinner at The Mother. You will not be disappointed. This restaurant really gives service and value for the money. The Mother will of course be on my list for the next Koh Samui visit.

Best restaurant in Choengmon, the staff were so lovely and the food was 10/10.
Would really recommend coming here as they offer quality, fresh food, at a very reasonable price. The ambience is also really nice.
Highlights for us were the Pad Thai, Massaman Curry and Banana Fritters with Ice Cream!

We were recommended this restaurant by our Hotel Driver (Krod from Meliã Koh Samui) and it became a firm staple for our evening dinners.
There is enough on the menu to vary your meals throughout the week. Service is attentive, loyalty and returning customers remembered to add a personal welcome.
The food is delicious, served quickly and is great value. They are wary of the spice levels and will always ask so you are not caught off guard.
We ate here most nights and should we return to Koh Samui and the Choeng Mon area, we will definitely be returning to The Mother.
