Tranquil superb Chilled out Location

Pi Samui has recently opened next to a popular Beach in the North East of Samui. This cool, clean, airy and spacious restaurant has a great chilled out ambiance. The beach and sea view are spectacular, as you sit and watch, drinking one of their many cold beverage choices. Relax chilling out listening to the laid background music that adds to the overall feeling of a beautiful part of the Island. All the staff were exceptional, friendly and proficient. The lady member of staff who served me, Miss Nabdow (Star), was exceptional and her English was superb. Her understanding of their menu and recommendations made for me and my friends were second to none. So much so I visited Pi Samui no less than 5 times over a three week period. The menu was not over exhausting and everything I ate there on my visits was made to the highest Standard, delivered in a timely fashion. We stayed after our meals for more drinks and to watch the fire artists on the beach. Reasonably priced I highly recommend this excellent restaurant for its food, drink, great staff and fantastic location.

Perfect lunch!

This place was the perfect spot to sit with your feet in the sand enjoying the breeze with a crisp wine with the most amazing food. It was so enjoyable!!! The staff are just lovely and we had the tastiest guacamole and corn chips with a perfect pad Thai, kicking back to great music. Very cool place!

Wow, just wow!

Wow! Just wow. Its THE best service and amazing food. We ordered everything from pizza to local thai food (chicken cashew and massaman curry) and it was divine. Best thai food We ever had (and We had alot 😅). We spent the whole day here just swimming in the sea, playing on the beach and had our fair share of coconuts 🥥 even though its a very nice place our lively toddlers were warmly welcome. They even have SUP boards and glass bottom kayaks that you can borrow for free. Big Thank you to Mr Mark and the whole staff team!

Amazing looking restaurant to be avoided

We arrived at 7pm for dinner and were the only customers.Our server told us he would be be leaving in 15 mins so we would need to order quickly as the rest of the lazy staff were incapable of serving us correctly. He was chatty to the point of being over familiar and his derogatory terms which he used for all Thai people were unappreciated ( he was not Thai) the food arrived and my pad thai was cold and rubbery .All the food arrived so quickly it was obvious none had been freshly prepared. The wine was an extortionate price. This restaurant has an amazing location and decor but it was the worst food we experienced during our 3 week stay in Thailand. I would say stay away .

Unfortunate „inglorious“ ending to an evening out

We have been here before and had returned in anticipation to repeated nice evening with good food.. This night started out with an exuberant waiter (?), non-Thai, with a touch too much of service orientation. He did though notice that only 2 out of 3 meals had been served, and set out to expedite the missing dish. The bill that ensued was apparently unfortunately expressed, wherein the salad allegedly came with bread, and a side order of bread was charged at 80 ฿. We asked the waitress to check if we had been erroneously charged, she (assumedly) checked, and returned with an edited bill, less the extra bread. We paid, left a 10% tip, and got up to stroll home. We were subsequently stopped by the initially “exuberant” non-Thai, politely told us that their cashier noticed that we didn’t pay the 2 slices of bread, as these were not included with the salad. We gave him 100 ฿, let him keep the change and left. I couldn’t care less about the trivial sun. But the same “exuberant” restaurant representative that couldn’t ensure three meals delivered as ordered, made us feel as if we were trying to bilk 80 ฿… Food was great, and we still have 2 weeks in Choen Mon, but I would only return if my family members insist. PS: this review does not warrant a lame rebut. In spite of an understandable service lapse (to which we did not complain), you totally embarrassed us over 2 toasted bread slices and 80 ฿. And kept the 20 ฿ change. We’ve been coming to this beach since 2004 every year. We will be here in 2024. You too?

Great potential, needs some thought!

My husband and I wondered down to Pi from our hotel on Choengmon Beach, it’s set on a stunning part of the beach with beautiful views and the chilled house music was a welcome change from the typical in this part of Samui. Cocktails really were worth the hype, and the English chap I can only assume from other reviews must be Mark was a very friendly, chatty and enthusiastic host who made us feel welcome and took care of us well. We decided to come back for dinner, it was quiet on a Tuesday evening and sadly Mark was not there. The food was average, the service was poor, we were being rushed (even though they were slow) and at some point the guy looked at his watch as he asked us if we wanted anything else as it was approaching 10pm. (Seemed odd as Mark told us that whilst they closed at 10, if you were still having a good time and fancied more drinks they would always stay open for you.) Pi has great potential for live music and dj’s, a bit more thought in terms of the atmosphere (again interior design is lovely but it has no actual vibe), and the rest of the staff really should let Mark show them how hospitality should be done. I’m afraid a lazy, reluctant, ‘are you still here?’ kind of an attitude just won’t keep people reaching into their pockets, no matter how good those cocktails are!

I honestly do not understand the good reviews for food in this place. It was the worst meal we had all holiday. Location with wise it ticks the boxes, unfortunately for us that is where it ends. We were shown to our table by a waiter how wasn't exactly welcoming. He must have gone home after this because we never saw him again for the rest of the night. I had to keep catching the attention of other waiters to take out order and for a drink. After a while someone eventually took our order. Kids meals came first but they did fetch any cutlery for any of us and again I had to wait ages to catch the attention of a waitress. Kids had pasta, to be honest they were happy with it. I ordered from the Thai menu, pineapple rice with chicken and prawn. The prawns were not fresh and chewy. And I couldn't find a single piece of chicken in it. It was the blandest thing I've ever tasted. I asked for some Thai condiments to try and add some flavour to the dish, which never arrived. My wife had Tom Yum soup. Very odd flavour compared to others we have had and she didn't finish it. I didn't finish mine either. We would have complained but we didn't see a single server. I pointed it out at the end and they just apologised. They didn't even offer a drink or knock anything off the bill. Maybe the European dishes are ok, but I will not return based on the terrible service. There's didn't seem to be anyone overlooking things. Which is unusual in Thailand. Maybe the owners should be looking after them more.

Terrible customer service and hardly any better food

Visited Pi earlier today, initially during a day on the beach for snacks, however as the weather closed in and a rain storm hit us we went inside to shelter and decided to take the opportunity to have lunch. Huge mistake. The English host Mark is an over familiar character, arrogant, rude, probably a little self obsessed and blatantly ignorant to customers requirements. To expand on this: As we sat down I explained a situation to Mark and asked if their was anywhere our 9 year daughter could clean the sand off her. He informed us there was an outside shower and that he “didn’t have time for this”. At that point I wanted to leave however for the families sake we stayed. We ordered a pizza with fries along with the chicken Massaman curry which comes with plain rice. At the time we were told the curry was their signature dish. Our daughter doesn’t eat Asian food very often and wanted something plain. We requested if she could have a simple bowl of plain noodles, however much to our surprise Mark informed us “we don’t offer such a thing”! A predominantly Asian restaurant that can cook plain rice but not plain noodles, very odd! We questioned this and received the reply “I can spend five minutes telling you what other children order or my life can be made easy and I will go to have my own lunch”! Whilst eating we were asked how the food was to which I informed Mark the pizza etc ok and the curry was average for Koh Samui. He replied “average”, laughed, tapped my arm and walked off! He actually didn’t care that customers were less than satisfied with the food served and didn’t hang about to find out why or if he could change the situation. Let’s remember it’s their signature dish after all. On paying the bill my partner informed another member of staff of what had hadn’t during our time at Pi, who offered an apology however didn’t offer in raising it to the restaurant manager. The cocktails are expensive and Pi load them with ice to minimise the actual amount of drink you get for your money. One final note, I observed Mark talking with customers during his work within the restaurant, he’s far less attentive to families than he is with couples and groups. The teenagers serving in McDonald’s have more consistency in their customer approach than he does. We have 3 nights left near Pi before moving onto our next stop, however following this experience won’t be visiting Pi and wouldn’t recommend anyone going.

Pi Samui, how welcoming

As soon as we arrived the red carpet was rolled out. The restaurant itself is beautifully laid out with some delightful decor. The menu is quite large but the waiters, in particular “Mark” , helped you through it wth minimal fuss. There was no waiting around as the drinks and the food rolled out in a very timely fashion. We chose the Pad Thai which delivered on all aspects. I know we are in Thailand they should be able to do a Pad Thai ( checkout the photo) it was done in Pi Samui style, how delicious. I then ventured on to the dessert menu, which I seldom do, but the fried pineapple with rum raisin ice cream had to be tasted. It did not disappoint, and Mark even supplied extra utensils to make the experience even better. All in all what a great bunch of staff that made us feel so welcome. Thank you Pi Samui, we’ll be seeing you again.

Not Our Favorite

This is a difficult review to write, only because we loved the service and the people working there... so full of personality and color. Also, we absolutely adored the ambiance and style of the restaurant... very beautiful and comfortable. Unfortunately, do not share similar sentiments regarding the food which was bland and tasteless. We came with a big family and everyone commented that the food was not original and lacking in taste. I had the cauliflower organic salad and they forgot to put dressing on it as I instructed. The pizza tasted like cardboard my wife commented, etc., etc. Again, this is an unpleasant review to write only because I liked the staff so much...however, we will not be back.

An amazing modern-feel restaurant in an amazing setting!

Our Thai friend took us here for the first time today. We were impressed by the modern building design, the setting, and the beautiful views, and we really appreciated the south-easterly wind which blows through this restaurant keeping the air temperature down making it very pleasant to sit around it and on the beach. We did not eat on this occasion and just had drinks. We were served by a very polite, courteous, efficient and charming English waiter, who gave us a fascinating insight to the restaurant and the private island that is attached by a causeway, he really made our day! We shall certainly be returning in the very near future to sample the food and to enjoy the lovely atmosphere the pervades the whole place.

The staff provide good service, delicious desserts, and the atmosphere is nice and quiet, suitable for relaxing without being busy. The beach front is very beautiful, suitable for taking photos. Get your outfit ready. In the evening there is a view of the sunset.

A very welcome addition to Choengmon beach.

Strangely this restaurant and bar are said to be located in Bophut. This is not the case, you can actually find it at the eastern end of Choeng Mon beach, about 10 km from Bophut. Anyway logistics aside we have watched on our last few visits as this round building took shape and last night was our chance to have a taste of what it had to offer. Although a little costlier than some of the other places we certainly thought it was value for money. Great Bloody Mary and Gin/tonic selection as well as a deep wine cellar. We have two young daughters so went with a selection of tapas style starters and a couple of main courses. All were wonderful and the service could not have been better. Certainly somewhere that we will visit every time we are on Samui.

Food disappointing

This restaurant is beautiful with a great view of the beach. Fantastic violinist was playing that night. Then our food came out and we were disappointed. We had a spaghetti seafood and a spaghetti with crab. The portions were very small and dry with no sauce. Maybe our choice of food was wrong. We also had 4 beers with one free as happy hour but the bill was $100 AUD for not much. The seafood was minimal also. I decided to visit the ladies and had to get around the water pit and climb the stairs only to find the toilets in dim lighting with no toilet paper. I decided to wait until I got back to my hotel . Came back down and paid the bill.

Fantastic location but reflected in the prices. Can’t fault the food and drinks. Pasta and burger dishes were great and cocktail sundowners at just the right time went down a treat. Service was erratic to start with but afterwards became more attentive
