Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

We went for lunch on our last day in Porto. We had one of their set lunch menus. We had the meat, fish and veggie dish between the 3 of us. Very well priced and the food was lovely and tasted very homemade. We sat...in the garden, which was definitely a sun trap. Personally I have now been twice and both times the food has been very good and perfect for someone who doesn’t really like making decisions.More

Really lovely little place tucked away off the streets of Porto. Lovely tea, friendly service, good food. Definitely choose your time off day wisely though as we went when there were quite a few children around so it wasn’t the relaxing experience we were looking...for. Nothing the staff can do about that though! Loved the atmosphere otherwise.More

Cute hidden place suitable for longer visits and just chilling in the garden. The place offers tea of the day and also some small snacks to eat.

I contacted the restaurant because I wanted to celebrate my birthday there, drinking tea and eating a piece of cake. I sent an e-mail giving them all useful information, which room I would have loved to have, and for how many people, at teatime. They...answered with the lunch menu (?). When I arrived with my friends, they hadn't reserved the table, but they still had some places to sit. So it was as my e-mail had been completely forgotten. We choose the room, but, after one hour, the waiter told us to move to another room, because someone booked that room for.... a birthday! We then moved with our teapots and pieces of cake to the room next to it. Organization must be improved, the place is really nice. Shame for the overall service, from the first contact by e-mail until the end, when I paid.More

Don't go if you don't know how to recognize the different qualities of tea! Today I had a very bad surprise. I ordered Formosa Top Superior oolong tea, the service was slower than usual, I waited 20 minutes and the waiter came back because he...could not remember my choice. I waited 10 minutes more, I went to the kitchen to know what was happening and when my tea came to the table I found out it was NOT the tea I was waiting for. I could CLEARLY taste it was Milky Oolong so I went to the kitchen one more time to ask and the waiters seemed to be really embaracced. They told me they finished the first quality so they gave me a similar one...WITHOUT ASKING! After my complaint they decided to offer my tea. I told them of course I was not intended to pay for what I didn't ask and I told them it was a very bad behaviour because it was 100% mockery. So sad!More

I liked this place, which seems to be operated (owned?) by young women. This is not a hippie place at all, unless by "hippie" one means Asian (Indian and buddhist) decorations, art & sculptures, which are presented with taste and flair. The service was friendly...and faster than most restaurants I've been to in Porto. Both the soup and curry were excellent. I ordered a Bolivian green tea, the taste of which was a bit too subtle (under-steeped?) but this is a small price to pay for sitting in a nice garden, amidst the birdsong, flowers and trees. One of my favorite places in Porto.More

Maybe it was that we'd just come from the lovely Crystal Palace Gardens. Or that the leafy Rota do Cha patio where we sat was the perfect setting for lunch. But the lunch we had here was our favorite meal in Porto. My husband enjoyed...his risotto with squid (lots of squid). I was surprised at how tasty my pasta with red lentil sauce was. Their menu is limited, but the food is excellent and the atmosphere is charming. Their lunches are a great value.More

I found this tea room on google and then searched for reviews on TripAdvisor. It is really cute and has an adjoining shop. Bought some lovely tea leaves for secret Santa office party. The tea is very tasty and the scones are absolutely perfect. A...lovely place to visit for something sweet and warm on a rainy afternoon.More

This place has over 300 different flavours of tea... need I say more? It has the cutest most tranquil garden too. Perfect lunch spot. Food was fresh and delicious. Great little hidden gem I would 100% recommend.

We went to Rota do Cha to escape the heat of the day over lunch. The Garden feels very private and secluded, with a nice ambience. The food is reasonably priced (€8 for a main course and a drink including wine, tea). The food is...good, simple but flavoursome and satisfying. I would recommend dropping in for a lunch, cup of tea/coffee and a cake.More
