Delicious fresh papaya milkshake. You can see all the fruit they use. Low prices, casual atmosphere, frequented by locals, doesn't feel like one of the many tourist traps in this area. Love the idea of fresh fruit for milkshakes and juices + local sandwiches/snack food.

We found this little cafe on our first morning of a week long trip to Funchal. It is situated opposite Santa Catrina gardens almost at the top of a steep hill. We were looking somewhere handy to our hotel to have breakfast, we were not...disappointed with this place! We had bacon sandwiches which are served on the most delicious soft homemade bread roll, lots of bacon and the best coffee of the trip. In fact my husband said , the best coffee he has had anywhere!! So for 2 bacon sandwiches and 4 coffees, 9 euro, excellent value for money and fantastic food. We had our breakfast here every morning of our holiday. Its a brilliant people watching spot as well. The staff speak a little english and are very pleasant and helpfulMore

The snack bar is run by 2 senior gentlemen. We’ve called at least once on our 3 visits to Funchal. It’s half way up the steep hill travelling west outside of Funchal opposite the gardens. We had a club sandwich freshly prepared enough to be shared for...2 people with 2 half litres of beer 9 Euro just what you want when you don’t want a big meal. We’ll returnMore

2 steak sandwiches, 2 large beers, 2 coffees, £10.00! Freshly cooked, friendly efficient service - not ‘grand’ but I go to cafes to eat!!

They say never judge a book by its cover and this is an example of that. The service as good, the place was a bit dated but the food was great and more importantly, cheap. I would suggest it beats hands down some of the...trendy cafes slightly further along the strip.More

We wanted to get away from the busy main street, and relax. We discovered this place off the small park, and enjoyed a good lunch. Everything was tasty, and served rather quickly. The menu has simple items, such as Club Sandwich, and Salada Mista. They...offer good tea and other drinks.More

I always visit this cafe bar when I'm in Madeira as it is the best value cafe I have found in Funchal. They specialise in fruit smoothies but I always have the prego especial (2.80 euros) and a medium beer or shandy at only 1.50...euros. A great lunch for under 5 euros! If it's not warm enough to sit outside they have a small area inside. A grreat liitle place with great food.More

We always visit here on our twice yearly trips to Funchal. Clean and simple with snacks and main meals to meet all appetites. Coffee and a brandy in the late evening is also becoming a regular stop here!
