Simple menu, great service. We asked for recommended dishes and were not disappointed. Excellent value for money.

The owner was very welcoming and the food very good. He was a great help in choosing and we would definitely recommend a visit here to eat.

Went there just before closing, ordered a simple "Prego no prato" did not taste the best but i end up eating it.. Few hours later did not feel well and end up trowing up! The meat did taste like it has been reheated... Its was 15 min before closing time but its still no excuse.

Tiny restaurant off the beaten track. Great piri piri prawns which we had as a starter one time and we returned to have them as a main course the second time as they were wonderful. One of the few restaurants where you get plenty of vegetables. Very personal approach.

Very nice small restaurant serving excellent fresh food. Location is slightly away from the main tourist area but for sure worth visiting. Locals were enjoying their evening here as well.

Many reviews mostly favourable. Two brothers running this 28 seat restaurant for 35 years. We went early so we had the place to ourselves. The brothers are here from around 8 am to 1 pm as required. We had the delicious peri peri prawns starter followed by a sizeable steak for my wife and a huge portion of cod on... More

Like the other restaurants I have visited in Funchal I cannot really fault the politeness and friendliness of the staff. Unfortunately the quality of the food does not match their efforts. We started with shrimp cocktail which was lovely. Juicy prawns mixed through a bed of lettuce with a sauce which was just right - not too sweet and not... More

I had to find a quiet genuine place for this meal and this place is it! The waiter was welcoming and knew just what to recommend as I was seaching for the 'house speciality'. I got the espada with the special touch of the chef. And along with vegetables and the banana prepared just right, this meal was a success.... More

We ate twice here because we really liked the atmosphere. The two gentlemen who run it are brothers and have been here for donkey's years. One does the cooking and the other does front of house and they are so smiley and welcoming. It's not "poshnosh" but traditional, good food in huge portions, excellent fish soup, tuna Madeiran style, Dao... More

Ate here in the evening in February 2015. The place was quiet (2 locals eating alone) and football on the TV. We had soups to start (€3-€4), one of which was excellent, and shared the grilled tuna steak between us (€11) - the tuna was tasty and nicely seasoned, with lots of vegetables to accompany. We were glad we shared... More
