Visited Regional Flavours twice on a recent long weekend. The food was excellent and we were well looked after. The staff are friendly and are keen to please. The beef skewer was delicious and I had a squid skewer on our next visit and it...was equally nice. If you book using The Fork you get 50% off the food which is amazing value.More

Regional Flavours is a great restaurant - whether for lunch or an evening meal. As the name suggests, local dishes are served in the traditional way. The lunch time 'Dish of the Day' is fantastic value at €6.50 - great quality and quantity! The staff...at the restaurant are lovely and drew us back - in all we ate 3 times in the week - 2 lunches and an evening meal - our last before returning home. They made it a very special night for us. Highly recommended......More

We waited an hour for first course, which was tasteless and dreary, then waited again for the main. I wish we had left then, but they kept saying the food was coming; dry tasteless chicken in a vinegary sauce and my kebab, which was full...of gristle. Well worth avoiding. A good tip is to go round the corner to Combatientes, far better food at a better price and with food serviceMore

1st night of our holidays we found this restaurant in a narrow rustic street. Very friendly staff made us feel very welcome. The front man is quite a character! The food ( not a big menu which is good- honest) was really very good. Delicious...and great quality. Fresh produce. Free little drink on paying your bill. Defo will return 👍More

Good food, nice atmosphere outside the restaurant. quick services and pleasant and enthusiastic waiters. Plus a 50% discount on the food through The Fork - what's not to like?

We had reserved our table and we were at the same one as last year. Service was timely, food was interesting and enjoyable.

The scabbard fish did not taste like fresh fish and the banana on it was tasteless. It was like a cheap piece of fish you get in a scabbard sandwich at a bar. This used to be a great dish. The limpets and tomato soup...were good. Starting to wonder if Funchal did too well in the Summer with the number of visitors and standards have slipped in a number of restaurants.More

Having visited Regional Flavours in the past, and given it a 5 star review, I was excited to revisit. What a difference two years make!! It was very busy but they found us a table outside for which we were very thankful for. It was...late so when the waiter, an elderly man, asked to take our drink order we said we were ready to order our food also. He snapped at us that the chef would decide when the food orders would be taken and he would only do the drinks. We were gobsmacked by his rudeness and promptly left. Had he said politely that he would be back to take our food order (waiter 101) we would have stayed. It was such a shame as we were really looking forward to eating here again. Perhaps instead of offering discounts and packing the restaurant full of diners, they should focus on getting back to the great service they provided in the past!! One to avoid in the current climate sadly.More

Very glad we found this lovely little restaurant in a charming historic street for some al fresco dining. We enjoyed it so much the first time that we returned the next evening. During our two visits we had the clams and limpets as starters as...well as paella and fish skewers/kebabs. All were excellent, as was the passion fruit dessert. The waiting staff were super busy but did a great job. We will definitely return when we are next in Madeira.More
