We’ve been coming to Madeira since our honeymoon in 1996. We always have dinner and or lunch here. Says it all really. One of our favourite restaurants on the island. Warm welcome, great fresh fish skewers and atmospheric Fado every night.

This lovely restaurant in old part of Funchal you can easily miss, but be sure to step inside in the evening and at least take a glass of delicious red vine, because you'll be witness of the best, most passionate and genuine fado you can...More

After strolling the Old Town and being accosted by so many waiters hawking their restaurants, it was pleasing to find this little gem. There is no waiter trying to entice you in, nor a published menu outside nor any of tacky laminated pictures of the...More

It's a wonderful place if you want to listen to live fado music while having a dinner. Food is good, wines too and service very polite. Prices are also ok. Recommended.

We took pot luck on this restaurant among the throng of similar eateries in the old town area. Great friendly service and food on a par with best we've had in Funchal. We would stop by again if we were in the area.

The meal was ‘OK’ but not amazing. I had the peppercorn steak and it was one of those meals where you admire the steak sauce more than the steak. Wifey had chicken on a skewer but there wasn’t a lot there. Our garlic bread side...More

Drawn to this restaurant to hear the sound of local Fado music. The evening 'recital' was divided into a number of short segments with each being fronted by a variety of local singers. This was interesting to hear the different voices - would have liked...More
