This is still the Best pastel de nata that I have tried. We decided to seat down in the cafe to eat, pleasantly surprised, there are other good pastry they offer. We decided to bring a few take away for later and it tasted still...very good. The crust is very flaky & the custard is just nice not too sweet. This is the real thing, the original!!!More

When in Lisbon, you must stop at Pasteis de Belem to get their custard tarts. They also have an interesting history. The monks next door used to make them and sell them at the shop, and they became known as the pasteis de Belem. You...can usually get these tarts at any Portuguese bakery in New England.More

Beside the world-renown Pasteis, having an actual breakfast or afternoon tea is great. The Pao de Deu (coconut flake brioche) with ham and cheese is to die for. Good petiscos too.

I had read that this was the original bakery for the famous Pasta de Nat-a, so we joined the line of tourists to see if the fuss was worth the wait. It was. We learned that these pastries are truly best served warm- the flavor...changes- and you must experience the difference!!More

We visited during a Tuk Tuk tour of LIsbon, timed to arrive between the waves of breakfast eaters and tourists from the Monastery of Jeronimo, so the line was quite short. We had Pasteis de Nata from several places in Lisbon, this was by far...the best. If you're in Belem don't miss thisMore

If you’re going to buy these cakes, buy them here! They’re way better than anywhere else in Lisbon. They’re warm, custardy and crispy. AMAZING!!!

There is always a long line for Pasteis de Belem, and now I see why. The flaky pastry, the rich custard, the cinnamon…. Worth the wait.

If you’re looking for perhaps the worlds best Portuguese tarts, this is an essential addition to any travel itinerary. Served warm , the most delicious pastry cradles a delicious, not too sweet egg custard. The best I’ve ever tasted. Expect to queue but the service...is proficient and fast.More

We had the famous custard tart available at our Lisbon city center hotel. The custard was heavy and pastry was not flaky. At the source, we found it tasty and quite enjoyable, worth the trip if you want to try the original, plenty of others...offering similar.More

Truly magnificent, super fresh nata! In my opinion the best nata from the 5 - 6 different places that I tried! Rewarding after the Monastery.

We had high expectations for the original factory of pasteis de nata. We waited for 20+ minutes for a table of 3. We ordered a lot of different pastries and pasteis de nata for breakfast. All of them were very good. Not the best pasteis...de nata we have tried, but still very good. It's worth a visit if you have enough time to wait.More

Seen many times on travel programmes from Travel Man to Rick Stein and was well worth a trip to. The tarts were amazing and true to the reviews - beautiful. They do other pastries and the Paolo De Deus are mouth watering too.

There may be two lines, one for takeout and pickup, and one for interior seating, this is the one you want. The interior is large and holds hundreds. The cost for two treats with coffee is 5 euro (Oct 2022) and you can take your...time eating.More

Oh yes! That’s what we did! The price is the same and your server can bring you the pastries when you’re ready to leave and just charge it on your bill.
