We found this little place by chance, decided to have dinner there and don't regret it at all. Friendly, very small and authentic atmosphere as well as wonderful tasty food together with a good glass of wine. Would visit there anytime again.

We ate hear our first night in Lisbon. I had looked into what was near our hostel, and fell in love with the charming idea of eating in the winding Calçada do Duque. We were not disappointed! The service was a bit slow, but food arrived hot and our drinking glasses were never empty. While we were eating, a busker... More

The food was ok, but too fatty for our liking. The wine was nice, service terrible though - we waited nearly an hour for our starters to be told that the waitress had forgotten to place our order with the kitchen. The starters arrived, but not the drinks. We waited another thirty minutes for our main course. The food when... More

Had a great steak dinner at this tiny, eclectic restaraunt. Located a short distance from Rossio station, it is very convenient. The steak was perfectly done and flavorful. Staff was courteous and helpful. Wine of the week was solid. Would certainly go back.

We booked a table and when we arrived they had given the table to people who hadn't reserved ! The restaurant was full ! I've never seen this anywhere before, this is downright outrageous.

Went here with 7 friends and sat outside, with a great view over the city. Most of us ordered steak. I had the codfish, another friend the pasta, and someone else the baked mozarella. The steak was the favorite. The codfish and the pasta were a little cold when they came to the table. And the mozzarella tasted as if... More

The 18•5 Euros steak was good BUT I gave 1 "star" to urge them to follow the advice: Remember things! I ordered water (with bubbles!) and wine and steak. The Wine came and the steak soon after but never any water. I had to ask for it: and got still water. I waited for another while and asked for the... More

Stopped in here for a late dinner after hearing good recommendations. The restaurant itself has a nice cozy atmosphere and relaxed atmosphere. It took a while for the wait staff to notice us and seat us, and then another 10 mins for us to even receive menus. The food was good, nothing exceptional, and the wine was very nice too.... More

Staying in Chiado & Carmo

Neighbourhood Profile
Chiado & Carmo
The traditionally trendy "Chiado" (literally, "squeak", the nickname of a 16th century poet) offers plenty of cafes, restaurants and bars where you can stop for a cafe or cocktail, after exploring its streets, shops, art galleries, theaters, museums and viewpoints. It's also the home to the statue of the famous statue of portuguese poet Fernando Pessoa, having is usual espresso at "A Brasileira" as he used to. You can also enjoy breathtaking views of Lisbon from the Elevador de Santa Justa or the Carmo Convent, for example. A commercial neighborhood at its core, especially for its Garrett and Carmo streets, Chiado is to this day a mandatory visit in Lisbon.
