Seeing the beautiful interior is reason enough to visit the Sao Roque bakery but their delicious croissants and pastel de nata are just as worth it. They also make ham and cheese sandwiches in their freshly baked bread rolls, perfect kick off to a day...of sightseeing.More

We really enjoyed visiting this place since it is so unique and beautiful inside. The people were nice and tolerated our non-Portuguese ordering but it was quite busy and confusing as to who was next to place their order. We will still go back again.

The first morning in Lisbon I left my apartment and found this gorgeous establishment at the end of my road. From the outside it looks like a typical café but I was undoubtedly blown away when I stepped inside. The space is exquisite with ornate...mouldings and gold detailing reminiscent of a religious space. The display fridge is filled with gorgeous pastries, so it’s hard to choose what you would like but the fresh baked croissants and pastel de nata’s are fantastic. Pair your pastry with a cafe con leche and you have brekkie for under €3.00 Win!More

Yes, this is a chain for pastries but! Not like any chain I’ve known. The offerings are a variety of baked goodies and sandwiches...and breads. All very good. The atmosphere is quite lovely and the servers very pleasant.

What a beautiful building. Great pastries and delicious coffees in a charming, self-styled "Cathedral of baking".

Wonderful decor and good coffee and pastries. We were lucky enough to manage to score one of the 2 tiny booths by the windows. Dont be put off by the queue - it moves fast as most peioople are getting pastries to take with them.

This was a wonderful surprise while wandering through the Principe Real area; there is so much going on in this part of town, that it took my second walk through this neighborhood to stumble upon it. Coffee, pastries and a big helping of great classic...art deco/noveau architecture.More
