Must be fantastic in summer when you sit outside. Now we were lucky to sit under the tents while it rained, with heaters to keep you warm. Lively atmosphere Decent menu, good wines, just a slightly erratic service, but that may have been due to the fact that it was packed.

OMG the views from the latest floor are amazing! We had 3 cocktails, 2 beers and 1 tapa and the bill came to 35 euros which is quite good. They accept payment with card. Mind the stairs tho to the top floor as they are narrow spiral stairs.

Hard to be disappointed. Friendly efficient staff. Tasty well presented food and good value for money. Lovely views of the city make it worth the effort to get there and don't be put off by the entrance (a gift shop) or the other outside eating areas (under cover at this time of the year). Staff try and push their cocktails... More

The restaurant has a nice, friendly atmosphere and the food is good. The staff is kind and hard-working, but at rush hour it may take some time to get your dish...

We stumbled upon this place by accident as it was close to our hotel and having walked past it's very unassuming entrance (through a gift shop) a few times. What a find, the restaurant is situated on several levels and we were luck enough to be seated in the main building, with views overlooking the city. The service was impeccable... More

This was only open once during our stay due to having some work done, and we would likely have eaten here every day if they had been open. Menu wasn't vast but me and my wife both enjoyed our choices. We didn't realize the place was in two parts and we ate in the circus tent part which seemed to... More

After visiting the castle in Lisbon we were starving, a friend who loves this city recommended the place, it's a nice restaurant with great views to the Tajo river, we had a very tasteful bacalao bras and mushrooms with goat cheese and pesto. If you are in the area it's a good place to eat.

Having said it, it doesn´t mean this a cheap place - face it: it isn't! However, it's up to you to make up your mind in a way that you accept that great food, great views and great atmosphere can't come cheap. I'll wrap it up: I've traveled many countries both in business and leisure, and tried numerous restaurants from... More

Amazing. Simply amazing. We went there on a friend recommandation (thx Javier !) And to be honest we wouldn't have found it otherwise. Service was very friendly but not pompous. Cocktails were very tasty well presented. Scallops tartar was high quality and lamb was the most amazing meat i have eaten in a restaurant, including some Michelin star ones !... More

Staying in Castelo, Alfama & Mouraria

Neighbourhood Profile
Castelo, Alfama & Mouraria
Explore narrow streets and alleyways, small cafes and, of course, the internationally acclaimed Fado music. The earth-shattering Great Earthquake of 1755 destroyed most of the city but the contiguous neighborhoods of Mouraria, Castelo and Alfama remained standing to this day. These neighborhoods represent Lisbon at its historical best. The cool breeze of the Tagus river will take you up the hills to the sound of Fado, where you'll discover the best "tascas," eat delicious fresh fish and drink great wines. Discover hidden viewpoints and ancient traces of other civilizational ruins in the heart of the Portuguese capital. These are centuries-old neighborhoods that will welcome you to the very best of old Lisbon culture.
