My wife and I had dinner there tonight and we love the place. Butter naan was delicious, raita (yogurt dip) was some of the best I've ever had. They respected my wishes for a very mild vegetable dish (I can't have very spicy food--some places like to pour on the spices anyway, to make a point), while my wife's dish... More

Stopped here on spec for lunch. Food was very good with large portions. Staff were efficient and friendly and overall, the price was reasonable. Probably the best meal we've had since visiting Lisbon.

Found this place on google whilst looking for somewhere to eat. We are both big fans of Indian food and try and search one out when we're away. Was quite quiet when we arrived. A good selection of food. Started with popadoms with the normal sauces. These were ok. We had chicken madras(lovely) and chicken lababdar (ok). Because it was... More

The place was crowded the night we went. There was a very large party and a few other full tables. The menu was typical Indian fare. We started with an order of sweet naan, an order of butter naan, and a cucumber salad. We ordered a prawn lababdar, a vegetable masala and rice. The bill totaled 27 euros. The food... More

We have tried this restaurant twice, and found the food excellent on both occasions. There is a good variety, of standard Indian dishes as well as some from Goa, which make it a bit more interesting. It is a restaurant used by locals, and there were a couple of parties while we were there. The staff were helpful and pleasant.... More

Fancied a change from fish and steak so opted for this Indian restaurant. Service was functional, but not particularly friendly. Mains were very tasty and good portion size. Roti was excellent. Worth a try if you enjoy a curry.

I don't understand the reviews , the onion bajia had no flavour , I had to add the sauce to give it a little kick, and the korma was regular the sauce was too liquid for my taste I had better at home from a jar bought in a supermarket. The positive , food came really fast and the waiter... More

Staying in Baixa, Rossio & Restauradores

Neighbourhood Profile
Baixa, Rossio & Restauradores
A pending candidate to become a World Heritage Site, Lisbon's downtown (the "Baixa Pombalina", or simply "Baixa") is a perfect example of anti-earthquake construction, having been rebuilt following the 1755 earthquake by the famous Marquês de Pombal (hence its name). Its offer is vast: restaurants and cafes in Rossio and Restauradores, outlets and shops in the Áurea, Augusta, Prata and other famous streets, the imponent Praça do Comércio and its Arch, the luxury shops along the Avenida da Liberdade, this is the beating heart of the city center. The Baixa also grants easy access to trains leading to Sintra, the trams that go around the Castle hill, old neighborhoods or even take you to Belém, and Lisbon's traditional restaurants and cafes. Considering a visit to the Fashion and Design Museum (free entrance) and don't forget to try the famous liquor, "ginjinha"!
