Nice quiet place, friendly staff, great food and reasonable prices. Bread rolls and cheese were offered before the meal. I had a large bowl of soup, and my husband had shrimp/clam soup and we each had a glass of wine. The bill came to 13.55 euros. Very reasonable for a great meal.

A lovely restaurant with an interesting menu. I had what is called smelts in English, served with a very interesting savory bread pudding-like side dish. The server told me this is from the north of Portugal. The restaurant was comfortable, the server was excellent, as was the food, and the prices were extremely reasonable. A lovely dining experience.

We spent a while walking back and forth past many of the restaurants in Belem, and eventually settled on this one. It was a lovely sunny day, and sitting outside at the tables down the quiet little street connecting the hubbub of the main road and the green park made for a pleasant place to sit. We had the fish, golden dorado, fresh and great tasting. We sat outside, they have en small selection of tabels near the park and in the shade. Lovely day in Belem (and on the day that the Portuguese football team return from the european championship, as the winners)

This lovely restaurant is close to Belem Monastery and is a cosy place to spend a quiet evening. Very good service and food! The best clams I've tasted in Lisbon. Actually everything that I tried was pretty good.

Busy, little restaurants packed with tourists. Simple, but honest food. Service is fast and efficient and it's good value for money. It's hard to find a good place for lunch in Belem, and this one beats eating fast food burgers anytime.

Staying in Belem

Neighbourhood Profile
Belém is the "capital of the Portuguese Discoveries" and a photographer's paradise. You can spend an entire day exploring this neighborhood: monuments (Jerónimos Monastery, Belém Tower, Monument to the Discoveries), museums (Coach Museum, Centro Cultural de Belém) and breathtaking views of the Tagus river will make your visit worth your time. Belém also offers a variety of restaurants and cafes, namely the famous - and delicious - "Pastéis de Belém" (typical Portuguese custard tarts; make sure you buy an extra box of those!). Easily accessible from Lisbon's historic center, Belém is a must-do, especially if you're spending more than one day visiting the Portuguese capital.
