Had dinner on a Monday evening. Rubro was full and pleasantly buzzing. Service was attentive and friendly. Great choice of food in a partly tapas style. The deep-fried calamari (and I am an expert here) were the best I have ever tasted. Had to revisit to taste again. Good house white and red. Classy.

This modern minimalist tapas bar delivered well cooked and tasty food in a goof location. Although the food is not particularly memorable it is well priced and plentiful. The restaurant was very busy, even in November, and booking is strongly recommended.

No service. You can be one minute early and the waiters are still smoking so come back later. Go sit by yourself. God forbid if you want to see the menu. Food is terrible. Pork was too dry, pasta too wet. Overpriced too. Same wine costs about 2x or 3x of other comparable restaurants.

A very wide range of good tapas is available here. I needed a quick and tasty lunch and they deleivered food to the table quickly and it was very good.

Rubro is a modern shed type of place with wooden tables and wooden benches. I liked the style but … not the noise! Difficult to have a conversation. The food however is what we came for and it is really very good. Try the “plumas de porco iberico” delicious. As entrada I took a Spanish prosciutto which also was excellent.... More

Went for lunch after recommendation at my hotel (Hotel Britania and was happily surprised. Portuguese tapas with the additional option of great beef. I went with the steak for two and was not disappointed. Huge rib eye, sliced and quite rare (I ordered it medium rare and in the US what was served would be considered rare but not complaining).... We liked Rubro so much we went twice..enjoyed a number of small plates and some of their reasonably extensive wine list..food was really enjoyable and adventurous..service very good...but there is an indoor area where smoking allowed and we had to 'suck it up' the second time when th non smoking area was full and people were waiting

We were told to pre book a table as they get very busy, although they don't appear to have a web site we found we could book via email. The restaurant has table settings like Wagamams, but the food is 100% better, also food is served straight from the kitchen, which is open to the restaurant, with excellent service even... More

Dinner at Rubio Avenida was a wonderful experience. I was able to sit outside on a cool evening and enjoy a meal of foie gras, fried provolone, grilled pork and chocolate cake washed down with a Muruve Reserva Spanish red. The foie gras was cold and sumptuous. It was served with a crispy bread and onion chutney that complimented the... More

We were a very noisy group of ten ex-pat retirees on our last night of a 4night trip to Lisbon. We were staying int he apartment block next door and decided the close proximity suited our 'last night' needs. Despite the staff getting the wrong night for our booking they quickly, quietly and very efficiently sorted us a table in... More
