We had been badly burned/disappointed/ripped-off by our previous night's visit to a tourist trap fado restaurant called A Severa. Their food was disgusting and wildly overpriced, the singers only adequate. So it was with some trepidation that we entered Caldo Verde. As it turned out we could not have made a better choice than Caldo Verde. The restaurant is a... More

The show was great, excellent fado singers ( the lady was amazing) but the food was terrible...we had a ' salad with seafood' ( 9,50€) which it wasn't seafood but surimi ( the orange sticks )...the seafood rice ( 30€ for two) was tasteless...I don't know why coz all the fish is fresh and great in Lisbon. Service average...not friendly... More

We were wandering the Biarro Alto looking for a place for dinner. Were approached by a gentleman who asked if we were looking for a restaurant for dinner with fado, although we were a little sceptical, as it was starting to rain, we agreed. The restaurant is very atmospheric and the fado was good. The food was reasonably priced and... More

I went here with my friend to experience fado. The two singers were good, but the female was by far the best. We had dinner elsewhere prior to coming, but had drinks. Server was friendly. The breaks in between acts can be a bot annoying, but the singers were very nice and chatted with us.

Touristy, you say? Some friends (a Portuguese couple) who love all things Portuguese, especially Fado, were chatting with us about Fado and a great place they love, sharing that it is a place the Portuguese enjoy and not a tourist destination (but the menu has several languages). I'll take their word over that of disgruntled tourists who have decided it's... More

Fado is great! Lovely performers, but the food and service were terrible and expensive... It tasted like nothing.

Is a small but nice place, food is ok for the direct fado they got. You will have to wait if arrive late. All kind of "bacalao".

It's nice cosy (mom and pop) place. You will see the regular customer around that came for fado. Me and my friend like it so much so we came back again. It's popular and crowdy so try to come early.

We had a nice meal, a bottle of wine and listened to FADO music for 41 Euros. The female singer, Linda, had a lovely voice. The male singer seemed new and was perhaps in training. They were frustrated at one point with the talking level in the restaurant, which I would have thought they would be used to. They were... More
