Price, quality, quantity, hospitality, homemade food. I have known this restaurant for almost 25 years. Unfortunately I don't know if it will be open or will open, in March this year 2021, the owner has died, he was the key to all the success... Unfortunately...after the passing of the owner, it has not yet opened, and it looks like it will never open again. :(More

I shouldn't write about this restaurant; I should keep it to me as an insider tip, but that would be selfish. I've been to the "Cantinho..." the first time on summer 2001. I ate the best cod fish of my life, prepared with strawberries and...garlic (!!!). After many years I returned to Lisbon one week ago and in the evening I went straight ahead to the small streets of Rossio and voilá, the same tiny, simple place, the same lovely host and chiefly, the food is simply divine. I my laiman eyes good food must be authentic and be cooked with passion. The cook at Cantinho has these two "ingredients" in surplus. Trust Tiago when asking for a dish; he'll know exactly what you will like. If the paradise is a combination of good memories, my visits to the Cantinho will definitely be part of it.More

Great family-owned place for a cheap, traditional Portuguese lunch. Arrived here around 2pm and was greeted by the cook. The owner did not have a welcoming spirit, but promptly seated me and served me bread and olives (which they charge you). He did not speak...English, but was able to show me pictures with the French menu (which he also doesn't speak). I ordered the Filets de Poisson (Saint-Pierre [St. Peter]) and shortly there after. The fish itself was good and you get a generous portion, but could have used a bit more spices. However, the rice and fixings were really good and tasty. They had some desserts, but didn't order any. I drowned it all with a beer. The whole plate, including beer was only about €10. The service was fast and the lady (which I assume is the owner's wife) was really nice and helpful the whole time.More

A great restaurant for traditional Portuguese food! Excellent “pataniscas” (codfish). It has Only a few tables thus the waiting line can be long, but it is worth it!

If your visiting Lisbon, this place is a must try. Waiting time can be long, but it is definitely worth it. Try the typical dish of "filetes de peixe galo" and enjoy some of the best fried fish with a moutwatering tomato rice. Hope you...enjoy!More

The food is quite ok, ( but not as good as in Many other places ), the service is fast ( it is very crowded ) the atmosphere is ok. Good point rhe wine is very cheap ( wine of the house) no credit card....Not a fantastic culinary experience but a good time we had a good moment.More

This was the worst place that we visited so far in Lisbon. My husband and I came here and there was nobody in front of us we gave the waiter or whomever the man was our name and asked for a table for 2 he...said it could be 5 ,10, 15 minutes or even an hour it depends. Ok so we said that’s fine then people started showing up and talking to him and getting right in eventually my husband said to him we have been waiting , from that moment on the waiter completely ignored us and everyone that walked up he gave them the menu to look at and would not give it to us when we asked this happened yesterday February 16, we are still here but wanted to put that out there to make any future customers of this establishment aware. I am a travel agent in Miami and have quite a few clients that want to go to Lisbon. I will without a doubt warn them to not go to this establishment that they are a bunch of rude, racist ignorant people and not worth their timeMore

Delicious food, large portions, small family owned, friendly atmosphere. We had grilled seabass which was excellent. We got when it opened and it filled up immediately, very popular place.
