Quite possibly the best Sushi restaurant in Coimbra with a matching price tag. We tried the Udon and a sushi combo, the rice was soft and not overly sticky/dry as it sometimes happens with the cheaper establishments, the fish appeared fresh to the best of our knowledge and the udon noodles was tasty (although I harbored secret hope that it... There are not many Japanese restaurants in Coimbra but this one is by far the best. I would recommend no only the sushi (loved the "carapau" maki) but also the fish dishes such as the tuna tataki. For desert we tried the lime cheesecake and although it doesn't look amazing it tastes delicious! Also, the vibe of the restaurant is... More

My friend took me out for dinner in this japanese restaurant. I liked the decoration and atmosphere very much. Tempura and maki rolls were fresh and tasty - maybe just a bit small for the price. But overall, it was a good experience and I'm happy to recommend this restaurant for sushi lovers.

If you're in to wait more than an hour for a ordinary sushi, this is the place. The place is an old beautiful house with a nice staff but that doesn't improve on the quality of the food.

I'll have to say that this was the least impressive sushi I had in a long time. The staff wasn't too friendly either so the whole experience was just OK. Suffice to say that if someone asks I won't recommend.

We've been to Japones twice now, once for our anniversary and once for my birthday and both times were excellent. Japones is a dark, romantic Japanese restaurant on the second floor of a building (no elevator) on Avenida Afonso Henriques. There is plenty of parking on the street, but you can also take a bus there if you don't have... More

Great sushi and top Japanese cuisine that can be found in Portugal. It was a pleasant surprise find it out in Coimbra. For sushi fans and for those who want to prove. Very cozy restaurant with several rooms for more privacy. Professional and nice staff. I have to go back when in Coimbra.

We simply had a lovely experience in this restaurant! We found it on trip advisor and decided to try it one night. The place and the decoration is cozy and calm. We had one platter of chicken tyriaki and a sushi platter and a dessert afterwards. The chicken tyriaki did not exist on the menu but as I mentioned it... More
