Super busy place so ensure you arrive before rush hour. We luckily managed to get a table for 2 and a baby. All the food was delicious and service is very fast. Highly recommended. Stew and desserts were amazing

The restaurant is within walking distance of main cruise terminal. The menu is varied and even has some vegan choices available. The prices, especially compared with restaurant prices in California, were extremely reasonable. Our party of four paid around $40 US for a sit down...meal. We waited for fifteen to twenty minutes for a table of four at 1 pm local time. My party enjoyed the food--nothing fancy, more down home. I had the Portugal fish stew. The broth was flavorful and filled with well cooked carrots and onions and the four decently sized pieces of white fish were nicely cooked, meaty and moist. The restaurant was full and the pace was leisurely. We did not feel rushed once seated. Given the line and the slow pace, this is not the place to come if you are in a hurry.More

The restaurant, apparently the hot spot for dining in Ponta Delgada, is not worth a minute the waiting time to get a table. The food was disgusting: an octopus salad with far too much vinegar, hence sour, the fish stew a complete disaster, fishtails wit...only bones, ok, the friendly waitress changed to the catch of the day, which was the same, completely overcooked and dry. I really wonder why so many people wait to get this experience.More

We had a very short stop from our cruise excursion in Ponta Delgado Azores, this little gem is a short distance walk from the cruise terminal. Nicely nested in an old fashion home but their selections of seafood is amazing. The lapas were grilled with...little olive oil & salt/lemon juice. Fish stew of the day was local skate with onion, tomato & combinations of various spices. We end our lunch with their famous pineapple cake made from fresh pineapples( NOT CAN)More

This restaurant was recommended by my hotel receptionist but I must say it was a very disappointing experience. The waiting line was super long and they offered me a table at the bar to get in faster and not take up a table where they...could seat more than one person. I declined the offer as it was a very uncomfortable chair and right by the busy noisy kitchen. The waiter was very upset that I wanted a proper table and was treated accordingly throughout my experience. I had inconvenienced him from seating more people in this “rat-race” restaurant, where the numbers seated as quickly as possible was more important then my dining experience. The atmosphere is very loud, frenzied and they can rush you fast enough. The fish of the day was brought to me, not by my server but the man in charge of rushing people through the seating line and just thrown in front of me like I was a dog being fed, without any words or if I needed anything else. I was not brought salt/pepper or butter for my dry baked potato. The fish had a million small bones and was impossible to eat. I swallowed a tiny bone and it was stuck in my throat. I left the place in tears as such an awful awful dining experience.More

The servers are friendly, parts of our meal were ok, parts were served cold. It took 2 waiters to adress the issues. There are better restaurants. Don't waist your time.

Great place !! This place was always busy when I walked by over the last couple of days and the great food is the reason why. Staff are friendly and they recommended many great options. I went there for lunch and I was not disappointed....I started with Tuna Carpaccio which was delicate and fresh. My main was the catch of the day - beautifully grilled tuna!! Awesome meal and great service.More

Enjoyed a delicious meal here with friendly and fast service. Our waiter had a great sense of humour and could communicate with us in English and try to help us with our Portuguese. Lots of variety on the menu. Try the pastry with cheese, honey...and walnuts. Tables are crowded. Would recommend.More

Had high hopes based on a friends recommendation. Seated quick and told specials …… then Nothing! Our waiter being dominated by a food tour but no other waiter cared to take over- no drink order even- which would have kept us engaged with the place-...20 min when we asked our waiter twice to at least get a bottle of wine while we waited he shrugged his shoulders and put us off, pointing to the food tour tables…. We walked out- Shame!More

We heard it was the best restaurant in Ponta Delgada but that there were always long wait times and you can’t reserve. We went around 18:30, earlier than most Europeans. We were told it would be 30-45 minutes. We actually got in at about 15....The server came and offered a blanket in case we were cold waiting. He recommended ordering two different dishes and sharing, which we did, one beef and one pork. The food came quickly and was hot and good. We were seated at a large, round table with a gercouple and a Swiss couple.Lots if fun and great conversation . It was a very reasonable price, even with a bottle of wine and a dessert to share.More

There was a long line, nevertheless we decided to wait after a waitress wrote down our name and told us the wait was about 30mins. Normally this works like a charm. However, after 45mins of waiting we decided to inform about the status. All of...a sudden we weren't on the list anymore, and we were told that the wait was another hour. We decided to leave, totally unprofessional. It also looked like we weren't the only customers to whom this happened. So get your administration in order if you have people waiting!More

We had 8:00 pm reservations and after a short wait, our group of six was seated. As other posters have mentioned, this place is very popular and as a result very busy. Be prepared for a lengthy wait for dinner if you don't have a...reservation. The restaurant is very nice and authentic. Service was spectacular as it seems they have a real team effort and everyone (servers, host, busboys) don't have specific roles and jump in wherever help is needed. Food was top notch. Our table had cod, steak, tuna, octopus, some appetizers and deserts and everything was delicious! Wine and beer was also very good. We left feeling we had more than dinner. With the food, service and atmosphere, I would say it was an experience. If back in Ponta Delgado, this place will be at the top of our list! Many cheers ............More

We wanted to try Tasca as several locals recommended it. We went here as part of a food tour and had the chorizo, which was excellent. Liked it so much we went for dinner (octopus salad, rice and duck) and enjoyed ourselves. The place gets...packed, but we were able to get seated at 1800 without a wait.More

I just had to keep calling! Or just stop by when you’re in Ponta Delgada and make a reservation then. It’s worth it!
