This is still a good choice for shrimp caesar salad, hamburger de novilho, milho frito, and lemonade. We were sad to see the ten euro "peixe anfiteatro" disappear from the new menu, being replaced by the seventeen euro bacalhau and the fifteen euro tuna. Seeing...the return of ceviche was exciting, but not this bland version, which in no way compares to the excellent ceviche which was my favorite menu item when I first reviewed this restaurant more than a year ago. We have been coming here 2-3 times per week but a monthly visit will likely be enough in the future.More
Right from the start, a thing must be said about the staff: they are incredible — very professional, attentive and not intrusive. They're also very smart and nice to talk to.
The food was amazing, made with knowledge and respect for each ingredient on the...plate. The dessert with mature São Miguel cheese was glorious and I've no words to describe it.More
The restaurant is in a great location next to a parking spot, coffee shops, and stores in Ponta Delgada. Has a great vibe like a snack bar but fancy! The menu is all about the traditional modern Azorean cuisine, you have hamburgers, meat, salads and...wraps but all with local produce. I totally recommend the visit!More
All time favorite: Ceviche appetizer. Also enjoyed the tuna tataki starter. My cream of mushroom soup was excellent and my husband very much enjoyed his fish soup. I like ginger beer (stronger than ginger ale), which I only see offered in a couple of places...on the island. The onion rings are simple but good and not greasy. We will be back for sushi Friday and perhaps the weekend pizza and another day for the fresh fish. Yummy.More
This restaurant is hidden on the end of the pier. What a gem. We went twice we enjoyed it so much. The staff are helpful and very good at their jobs. The menu has lots of choice and the food is superb. There is an...excellent wine list too. And it’s not expensive.....More
In Sao Miguel again and took the opportunity to look up old friend and Maitre D, Pedro Jeronimo at this wonderful gastronomic venue. Don't be misled that the restaurant and lounge are part of, run and staffed by students of the principle catering college in...the Açores. The dining experience provides hands on training experience for students under the watchful eyes of members of staff.
Previously we selected the Azorean tasting menu that was superb but sadly no longer on offer. The comprehensive a là carte menu is a wonderful selection of courses unique to the islands. Appetisers, main courses and desserts including vegetarian options, meat and fish to satisfy anyone with a terrific wine list of Portuguese and Azorean on offer.
Service from start to finish was excellent, informative and friendly throughout, bordering on a less formal fine dining experience. Certainly it was hard to believe the full service from kitchen to waiting staff were students. Terrific and memorable.
Food courses were beatifully prepared, well cooked and tasted so delicious. Portion sizes were perfect and prices were great across the board. Wine and aperitif drinks were also high quality and reasonably priced.
To summarize, we had a truly memorable dining experience in a wonderful, modern environment overlooking the marina. High quality food, good drinks and superb service at highly competitive prices.
I have no hesitation in recommending this establishment for that extra special dining occasion. Pre-bookig is strongly advised.More
The quality is changing, but they have on friday evening the best sushi in town. The fish is fresh. Unfortunately 1 night the fish was overcooked. The 2 other nights we had a wonderful fish plate and excellent home made lemonade. We normaly never drink...lemonade. Very nice located restaurant on the cruise terminal.More
A hidden gem tucked away in what seems to be a harbor and fast food area, however go up the fist floor and enter a inspiring building with a stylish restaurant.
Nice selection of local and few international dishes and by all means can recommend...the fish, both catch of the day as well as ‘parrotfish’ were top, superb.
Also the fisherman soup and ananas deserts were best in class.
Local Pico island white wine is surprisingly mineral in taste and combines well with fish dishes
The price levels are surprisingly moderate, to European standards cheap, end up paying ~25eur person including drinks
