When looking for a place to have dinner in Horta, most places were packed with soccer fans and the menus didn't spark our interest. When we found the Casa teahouse and bar we found the relaxed atmosphere we were looking for: soothing music and some excellent soup and sandwiches. For a "real" dinner we had to reserve at least one... More

This place is a short walk uphill from the waterfront, away from the yacht basin. They have good tea, drinks, sandwiches, desserts.

I can start out by saying we had dinner here twice during our stay because it was so good! There are very few options on the island too which made this an easy choice. The entrance to the restaurant is around the corner from the sign (up a slight hill). You’ll go through a small alley lined with a courtyard/patio... More

The Casa has over 100 choices in tea. The pastries are very good also, and there is a nice garden to relax in.

On a wet Friday afternoon, what a pleasant surprise to be introduced to this gem just off the main thoroughfare. The decor is something to be admired and the welcome we received was second to none. The homemade vegetable soup with vegetables grown in the family garden was a welcome treat together with the home made biscuits which accompanied it..... More

Andre was kind enough to decipher the menu, serve our tea and he bakes the cookies there also! Overwhelming selection but they help you navigate your way to a pot of warm soothing tea. We had soup and cookies, just needed a light snack.

Very friendly staff with a great place and concept. Great idea to produce their own bread , in fact is what is missing in general in Azores - good bread. Orange cake and " torrada queijo de cabra mel alecrim "remarkable good. An advice make sure what is on the menu is really available .

We loved this place in Horta. It has the most amazing tea selection, great cakes and snacks and the staff is really nice. They even take the time to individually pick a tea for you. Plus they have a great garden, so you can just take a book there and read all afternoon while drinking tea. Fantastic!

We had fantastic sandwiches, tea and cake in the lovely garden. Quality ingredients and lovely garden. A little difficult to find, but worth it.
