My husband and I came to Restaurante Carlos for dinner on Easter Sunday. We didn't have reservations and it was around 8pm but we were welcomed in and only had to wait a few minutes at the bar before a table was prepared. The place was lively, and it seemed to be filled with lots of locals, or at least... More

We shared a mixed fish platter which was baked in oil in the oven. The fish included sea bass, grouper and monkfish, served with vegetables. We drank a bottle of Algarve White on the recommendation of the waiter, which was also good.

Great restaurant with outstanding local food. The staff, the owner and the owner's son were so friendly that we returned five nights out of our six days in Sagres. The only night that we did not eat there was the night that the restaurant was closed.

Had an OK meal here. The seabass was very nice but came with some overcooked green beans. Absolutely fine but for a mid-range meal but the A Tasca is a better bet.

After walking part of the Via Algarviana, we didn't want to walk far from our hotel, and Carlos was nearly next door. It was welcoming and friendly. We had the usual bread and olives, then one rice and octopus dish and one cuttlefish with beans and rice on the side. And a salad. Both were fine, and the dessert was... More

In my opinion this is the best place for a meal in Sagres off season. Staff is friendly and the food very tasty. Nothing fancy or pretentious, just good portuguese food and wine At decent prices

Just arrived in Sagres and went looking for dinner. Not much life and not many places open. This was an exception. Quite busy and some good simple fare, particularly the fresh fish. We felt that we could eat our way through the menu over the next couple of weeks.

We had the convert which included a ricotta type cheese, a tin of sardine paste and some marinated sardines and then had fish each (sea bream and golden brim) which were served with good boiled potatoes, carrots (soggy) beans and a small salad – which washed down with a Vinho Verde (green wine) was a pleasant enough meal. Properly fish... More

Fun and friendly service. Food was excellent (try the cataplana) and good value. Wine selection solid with a couple of really good alentejo reds on offer. Pleasant experience.
