Everytime I come to Algarve, I have dinner at this restaurant. It always surprises me with their dishes full of flavours. It’s one of the highlight of my holidays here!

We visited Viriato twice this summer and it was a delight on both occasions. We tried different dishes each time, and everything was wonderful: good size portions, and very tasty. Went to Viriato twice - once as a couple and once with a family of 7, both experiences were excellent. We have both foreigners (American) and Portuguese (from Portimão) in our group and all loved their food. Portions are excellent and well presented - especially...the bacalhau a lagareiro (salted codfish). Octopus salad was fresh and had correct garnish. Bread basket included assorted breads including corn, wheat and seed options. They accommodated change requests to plate without hesitation ( from chips to rice and veggies). Service is attentive and friendly which can be rare in peak august rush season. Te Very much appreciate the care and attention they give to their customers. We walked to this restaurant after spending the afternoon on the beach. The food was absolutely delicious. We had the cheese board to start, which was amazing. Lovely cheese selection and some fruit and nuts. I then had the salmon with potato’s and salad, which...they adapted so it was gluten free and my partner had the giant tiger prawns with chips and salad. There wasn’t much left. It was really good. We found this restaurant near our BnB at 3 Castellos. Its off the main drag which is great, but neverthess you will need reservations. The food and service was excellent. The staff are very attentive and the owner is very personable and they had no...issue with us bringiing our puppy. We've eaten here twice and will go again before we leave. Well worth it. You will not be disappointed and the prices are reasonable.More

Had some amazing garlic prawns to start. Grilled Sole and the wife had baby squid with HAND MADE chips which were divine. Way too many frozen chips so far in Portugal. Pedro served us wonderfully and his twin brother and Father and in the kitchen....It’s a very small restaurant so booking is advised, especially in the evening.More

First of all: great service and family friendly- this is not always the case. Second: fantastic food- we had the whole seafood experience with razor clams and prawns Portuguese style, followed by octopus and baby squids. All fresh and fingerlicking delicious. Third: the wine selection...was very good and matched perfectly with the food. We even took a bottle for home.;-) If you still haven‘t enjoyed enough, don’t miss the house „sobremesa“ Bolo de bolacha. In summary 10 out of 10 for a great evening. We‘ll come back.:-))) AnMore

This is the best restaurant in Portimao and there's nothing that hasn't been said. The food is spectacular full of flavour. I've never had such a tender, juicy and tasty grilled octopus in my life...so well cooked! It was also the first time I tried...a francesinha and omg. What have I been eating all this time? This people definitely had us all spoiled after such a nice welcoming and friendly service. Overall we had an unexpected food experience for the books! I couldn't recommend enough this place.More
