Previous reviews were encouraging but on arrival it appears to have closed down. Walked up and down the street but another restaurant appears to have opened there.

Cozy atmosphere, mouthwatering fresh seafood, superb wine selection and friendly service. We had the most amazing time at this place, an absolute must go!
Amazing food, cooked as you order. The fish rice is just the best. Great great place. Highly recommend.
We had the fish rice. Everything is fresh, tasteful. It's delicious and there is more than enough. The staff is like family. We'll definitely come back. 😍
Very delicious and fresh food at fair prices and also polite hosts who gave us some recommendations for our holiday in Portimão. We will come back for sure!
Very good portuguese food and not expensive at all. I'll come back again for sure. Good food and very nice sevice. Thank you very much.
Thanks again Antonio and Sofia. They were talking very passionately about the food they served. Food was excellent, good suggestions including very fresh seafood. Very hospitable, very helpful and kind to our kids. They also gave us some tips for the remainder of our holiday....I absolutely recommend going there for a relax, slow food & gastronomic evening!More
Food: excellent, atmosphere perfect there was life music. Good vibes and a friendly staff Prices are good
Good restaurant, friendly staff ! We took the octopus travessa and the beef travessa specialties, delicious !! the wine was also good ! At the end, medronho Liquor was a must !
We were looking for a traditional/local restaurant in Portimao for our first dinner in town, and we are very happy that we found A Travessa! From the starters to the desserts, very good food and proper homemade cook. Extra minutes of wait is more than...worth for the quality of food. Very friendly staff. Totally recommended!More
We stopped in for a light lunch. Chorizo bread olives mushrooms. It was perfect. We came again for dinner two days later. Clams bread quail sausage and cheese wine. Perfect again. I am happy to recommend this restaurant.
Stopped by this restaurant for a lunch stop and were thrilled with the service and quality of the food. The staff were really helpful and encouraged us to try their specialty
Thank you so much for your comments.🙂
My husband and I found this gem by accident when we turned down a little street off a main road and were drawn to the energy of the cute little place. We were met by the owner/chef who spoke of his food with passion, so...we were excited to try a few dishes. We got the oxtail, grilled squids and clams, all were great!More
Eleven people went to eat at this restaurant on October 4, the last night of our reunion party, and it was spoiled. From other reviews I understand that it is a good place and that’s why we went there, but it is hopelessly understaffed with...one waiter serving everyone, at least 20 customers at a time that night. We were fed late and after two hours two of our group had not been served, apparently because of a ‘misunderstanding.’ We gave up and left. The food was no more than ‘okay.’More
Visited A Travessa with my husband and the experience was a little underwhelming for such a highly rated restaurant. My octopus came very bland and I had to add lots of salt for flavour... and I’m not a fan of overly salty food. My husband’s...oxtail was good but he claims the portion was too small and the side was fries, which he found odd. My dish is slow cooked so I knew the wait would be long, but the general service between the courses was very slow as there seemed to be only one guy serving. At the end of the meal the manager/owner came over and offered some ginginha. Nice gesture, but I would have been more impressed if he were actually helping the waiter serve for faster service instead of chatting, eating, etc.More
