Lovely food! Only once a bit disappointed. We carefully checked that the meal is not consisting of ingredients that one of guests was allergic to, but..... not working! So a long wait of another dish, which came when all the others had finished...

Found by chance , didn't look brilliant from outside but once inside we were warmly welcomed , lots of reserved tables , mainly locals which is a good sign . Visited twice ate seafood catapalana and seafood rice . Both dishes were absolutely delicious would...definitely go back if we visit Portimao again .More

Another find through TripAdvisor. Excellent traditional style Fish Restaurant, amazing Fish to choose from although on this occasion I opted for the Veal steak which melted in my mouth. We went to Carvi because it is the best fish restaurant in town. We had a big slice of "Corvina" and we were in heaven. I have had a lot of very good fish in Portugal in my life, but this. . . . ....I have no words. The best ever. And the waiters are perfect, polite and nice. This place is a Must if you are in the area and feel for fish.More

During our trip to Algarve, we visited on two occasions this place. On our first occasion, we tried the seafood cataplana, a seafood dish from the country's algarve region. The dish was a mixture of clams, crabs, shrimps and spiny lobster cooked in a large...pan with tomato and potatoes. This was the best dish of all my holidays. On our second visit, I tried the grilled octopus and my wife the seafood pasta, Octopus was good, slightly too oily, and past were simple homemade pasta slightly too cooked for our taste. Service was very good on both visits. We will definitively return to Marisqueira Carvi on our next trip to PortimaoMore

We chanced on this place during the day and returned to try it for dinner. It was busy in the day and in the evening we noted a number of reserved tables. Most customers were Portuguese, a good sign. Very good prawn starter, also prawn...cocktail, both had sole for main. Excellent. We were recommended a local red wine, also excellent. Overall a good find, and better than some of tourist restaurants on the front.More

We discovered this restaurant 28 years ago when it was something really special for us. Everything is still as it was then (painted and renovated, though) but from a real hidden gem it has developed into a decent but also quite pricey place. Great seafood, fish and an amazing service. If you enjoy seafood try the “camarão da costa”. Fish, ask for “Cherne grelhado” is a top fish, expensive but it deserves any euro you pay.
