You ride 100 on a bike, up to Marvão on a nice spring day and need a good meal and feel & contemplate the views over the plains. That made the choice. Then: there is not the slightest sign of a smile on the owners face when you enter (nor ever after during the whole dinner), then there is church-silence... More

An appetite was built after a strenuous walk from our campsite to Marvao with it's impressive walled town and castle at 3000 feet above sea level. The menu do dia (menu of the day) caught my eye at €9 a head. Indeed, there were several choices. Unfortunately, the price did not include drinks as is often the case in some... More

Some past reviews were mixed. We were the first there so no excuses and none were needed. Some comments were about a not very friendly service, ours was ok, she probably dorsnt speak english. They have six three course menus for 9 euro each... Doesnt come better value. The vegetable soup was better than most. My chicken milanese was good... More

Delightful family run restaurant & bar in a fabulous location. After a cool aperitif we settled for the 3 course dinner menu. Very good home cooking, lovely surroundings, well priced, and served by friendly hosts. Definitely recommended!

disappointed We got attracted by the view and the friendly terrace. The food is bad. Overcooked fish. French fries served cold and oily. Veal chewy. We did not even finish the dishes. Having a wonderful village and a great terrace should not be preventing the owners to serve good food

There are not many restaurant options here, but this was pretty good. After driving up the ridiculously steep mountain, we were not leaving for dinner. Found this place, it had a lovely view as it is right on the edge of the mountain. The lady who took our order was not too friendly, but we interacted very little so it... More

While one of the waitresses was very unfriendly, even glacial, the rest of the staff was very friendly, to compensate. I had breaded chicken and it was very tasty. The potato chips however were slightly too dark and greasy. Not too bad a deal for the price, though.

Not much to pick from in Marvao. But this place came recommended as the better of what was available. We weren't that hungry so just had soup and bread. Both were without any flavor but the price including wine (which was ok) was less than 10 euros for 2 people.

This was a big dissppointment on our 3 weeks journey through portugal! From the upper outside terrace (lunch was just served there and not on the nicer terrace below..) you can't enjoy the view while sitting and eating because of a wall. The waitress was unattentive and without any good english skills, whereby she wanted to seve us a meal... More
