Went in search of this place because Rick Steves & other guide books highly recommended it. Very small (only 12 seats). Food was good and authentic (even used the chicken foot), plenty to share, salad was especially nice. Credit cards accepted. It's a tourist trap...over priced, 24 Euro for a bottle of the local red wine...outrageous!! Find better wine for... More

The place is small and the owner waits the tables and his wife cooks. He was very attentive and friendly. They had a wide selection of starters. We selected roasted peppers and mushrooms-very tasty. My leg of lamb was superb. Fall off the bone tender with a great supporting cast of potatoes and slightly al dente vegetables. My wife had... More

Fabulous tiny restaurant wife in the kitchen husband front of house the food was simply divine just how a great moma would make it! The couple running it were so charming just like eating as a guest in their home! Attention to detail was perfect typical Portuguese food at its very very best!! Family run restaurant where you can find very well made traditional Portuguese cuisine. We went there following friends' recommendation and were very happy with everything. Starters, main dish (we just had one because we tried three different kind of appetizers), the wine suggested by the owner, everything was fine in this very tiny 'tasca'.

The place is small and cozy, the owner serves all of the 4 tables. When you get to your table there are already 3 appetizers waiting for you. Feel free to ask for the menu and choose your own appetizers, we didn't, and got charged 18 Euro for a crab we didn't even order. After appetizers, once again Manuel the... More

Far too traditional and old stay comfort good. Pataniscas were delicious; crab Apetizer was without mayonese and too dry (not excellent at all and for 18 euros quite poor value for money for what it was). Soufflé was ok and arroz de pato was weak (not really outstanding on but poor and too plain - have eaten far better ones... More

Make a reservation and go to this marvelous, tiny restaurant. Senhor Oliveira serves and handles the wine — a great list, though small — and Senhora cooks wonderful regional dishes with flair and elegance. Trust any recommendation that they make; you won't be sorry!

In a fast two days visit to this Unesco World Heritage, its impossible to miss this place. Ten seats's room, owner assistence and the most peculiar "petiscos" ( Portuguese version of tapas). Incredibly the difficulty of making reservation...we almost give up! Fortunatly our hotel helped us and made it possible to us to get there and add this exoerience to... More

Cosy and charming, this place makes you feel at home, and the attention you get from the owners makes it even more enjoyable. Food is hearty and, though unusual for our taste, is really simply delicious. We had a great evening!

We had a very enjoyable meal there. The restaurant cadre is very relaxed as are the owners who obviously enjoy cooking for others. We had a selection of tasty starters followed by pigeon (which could have been better - it was a bit insipid) and scampis with spinach and a béchamel type sauce, a couple of glasses of good red...
