We ate here last week. Our first time in Belgium. We had a couple beers next door & then got in here in time for a late lunch. Most of us tried the waterzooi. Awesome! Really tasted like a home cooked stew. My friend had the chicken stew with some puffed bread or something with it. She said that was... More

I was really satisfied with this place. The beer came so fast I was really impressed. Concerning the deco it is very warm and perfect with a view on the canal. It took some time to receive our plates but totally worth it , it really feels like it was prepared just for us. Their local soup was amazing ,... More

It had been a long drive from Cambridge and all I wanted was a decent Flemish Stew and a calming beer to help me recover and set me up for an afternoon of sightseeing. We came across this place by accident. The beer 'menu' was as long as the food menu, so it suited us perfectly. Thank goodness we didn't... More

Too many people, very slow kitchen. Beers coming very fast. The mussels, when they finally arrived were delicious. Happy with the experience of alfresco dinning in Ghent but will not come back

Huge cauldron of the local delicacy - filled with what seemed like half a chicken - hot steaming and lots of it. The chicken vol au vent also superb - both dishes served with either frites or croquettes and some well dressed side salad and bread. Couldn't fault it - ate outside and it got a little chilly in mid... More

No I didn't expected it. In the middle of all Tourist restaurants we found Chez Leontine. Saturday night, crowds of people. They opened up the first Floor. Well done, thanks!! Outstanding service, great food and a never ending list of beers. Welcome to Belgium, welcome to Gent.

Ate here with a group recently. Its ordinary enough really. Rabbit and mussels were very good but steaks very bland. Frites were excellent tough. Wonderful de Koninck beer on tap. Overall it's fine but nothing to get too excited about. Bar downstairs is super though!

We went there by mistake (misled by the reviews on the beer pub close-by). Positively surprised by the beer "book" (kind of endless, pages and pages). Unfortunately, food is limited to a handful of traditional Flemish dishes (even if good, I would go again only for beer). Extremely limited oprions for vegetarians.

Next to the waterhuis de bierkant it shares its beer menu and in fact beers are served from there. Limited menu but nice food. Huge portions. I had the special soup which was either chicken rabbit or fish. The chicken version is flavoured with leeks, onions, tarragon, parsley potato and cream. Lots of beers to choose from- Gruut blond is... More

We dropped in for lunch. It was generous; bread with quantities of either a very tasty home-made pate or pressed mixed meats, also very tasty. We shared and it was probably more than we actually required. As a result of our lunchtime drop-in, we booked for the evening. I had mussels in red wine which, being served with leeks rather...
