Great, small, quirky and authentic bar! The decor is unique and the bar serves a fair amount of beers and drinks! Music plays in just the right volume, so as to enable conversation and relaxation! Ground floor is better. An absolute must-visit if you want...to see something true belgian!More
I don't drink alcohol so I don't usually visit bars, but I went there with some friends. I was surprised that they had so many mocktails that actually tasted good. And the interior looked so pretty and it was quite cozy too.
Just walked in, as was intrigued about the interior. Amazing and so quirky and cool. Could spend hours looking at all the funky, crazy things inside. Got delicious wine and beer. My kids got orange juice that the owner gave us for free! So kind!recommend!
We were in Brussels for work/pleasure and our hosts talked to us about this place because of its uniqueness, the decor that is a time travel machine, the fruity wines and some Belgium beer. Is magical although can give you the feeling of clutter but...upstairs you have a cozy area where to enjoy the drink if it wasn’t for the owner. I liked it BUT the old man running the place; I assume is his, is EXTREMELY RUDE! This man mine as well call himself “Tje dictator”. Disappointed is the least to say.More
This was recommended to us by a local and we were so happy we asked because this place was wonderful. The raspberry wine was delicious (and dangerous, you’ve been warned), staff were somehow the nicest people we met despite a complete language barrier and the...atmosphere was perfect. Dark and cosy, if you’re looking for somewhere a bit different and relaxed for a drink definitely go here. We’ll be going back!More
Got sick after drinking some wine there (and no it wasn’t a hangover i just had the one cup of wine, thank you) and it ruined my christmas, new year and basically the entire trip. Wouldn’t recommend it even to my worst enemy.
My wife and I visited last night Friday 29th November. I spotted the bar online. It looked a very intriguing place so we visited. On arrival you step in . You must buy your drink first before you choose where to sit. Very strange. I...like to find a table and a nice spit first then maybe look at a drinks menu. Like bars in Belgium usually have. 😀. But alas no. The bar made reals off wine and gins they have on offer. I’m a Belgium beer fan. So I ask what beers do you sell. She points at just five bottles and says that’s your choice. So I had one at €4,50 . My wife is 10 weeks pregnant so I ask for a non alcoholic beer. No she said. A Coca Cola I ask . Non she said. What soft drinks do you have. Fruit punch or water. Wow what a choice. My wife decided on none of these amazing options. No lemonade or Fanta either. With my beer in hand we find a lovely cosy table near the juke box with lovely french music 🎶 playing. We play uno cards for two games. Then the mafia boss comes over and asks in french . We don’t speak much french but he lists the days of the week and mainly says it’s Friday we are busy so please drink up and leave your table or buy more drinks. We were very shocked upset and lost track of my uno game. Lol . I looked around and could see three empty tables and l do believe there was an upstairs. There was another couple next to us also playing cards with one drink or maybe her partner had finished his. But he didn’t ask them to leave. Maybe locals. I wanted to stay and have another beer. But I couldn’t believe what the manager / door man had said. Oh you pay him for the drinks at the bar. The barmaid isn’t allowed to touch money. As I said mr gangster boss. My wife had no choice of drinks . We stayed for 30 minutes and was told to drink up. I loved the look of the place and the french music. I’m English but I love Europe. And voted against brexit. But I feel let down by people like the rude manger or owner. It’s all about money and time. Get out your not spending enough . Oh no snacks either. My wife said no drink no cheese 🧀??? This is Belgium . No soft drinks NA Beer. The bar does look great . But be prepared to buy lots of drinks and take a stop watch if you buy one drink lol.More
This place is such a lovely place for a pint. So many nooks and crannies. Old world but just adorable! 💜
I visited this local twice in my four years in Brussels, the first time as a tourist, and I must admit the place is charming and original. The second time as a non tourist: a person wishing to have a drink with friends. There, I...was quite disappointed to notice that the staff is very tourist oriented: I entered the bar and a guy sitting next to the counter told me in a rude way, while eating his burger, with a peace of salad into his beard, to order before sitting down, I replied I would like to leave my bag and coat somewhere before ordering straight away and he replied ok, but to make sure to order as soon as possible. Probably they are afraid of people visiting the place without ordering, but still it’s rude. When ordering I found out they don’t have a coffee machine, so no coffee or tea, the beer selection is very limited, you won’t find great beers there. Anyways I ended up ordering a juice, which I paid 6€ (?!). After few hours when me and my friends left, the waitress asked us to take downstairs our own glasses so that she has less things to do. Seriously?More
I visited this bar for about 30min while my family did some last minute souvenir shopping close by. What a cool place to chill out and have a beer (although it seems to specialise in fruity wines). Atmospheric, great decor and duke box playing oldie...French music.More
Great place for a drink in this dark and atmospheric bar. Small intimate rooms with candles and pictures all over the walls. My favourite bar in Brussels.
This is a bar with a lot of stuff in it, which absorbs sounds and makes the acoustics great. We were in here and it was packed, but you could still have a nice conversations. They have a jukebox which sometimes works.
It's a bit different which is cool I guess...but not my cup of tea design wise... too much going on and a bit grungy and dirty feeling. The drinks were gross... I could not even finish half of it... my husband ordered something different than...I did and his was really gross too...I could see why some people might like it here but neither me nor my husband thought it was worth the stop in...More
