I'm quite picky with Japanese but was totally satisfied at Izakaya. Don't go for sushi, but the sashimi, sobs, gyoza, yakitori and all other small played we tried were awesome. If you're looking for authentic Japanese in Brussels, definitely try Izakaya!

I had a dinner in this small restaurant a few weeks ago, first of all, as said in the title, the waiters are rude and they don't speak very well french but another negative point is that already around 21.00 i couldn't order anymore some grilled snacks because they couldn't manage the orders.... very disappointed. The takoyaki was terrible, too... More

We went there for dinner and were seated at the bar. Service was really bad almost impolite as soon as we entered the place. The food is just okay. We like Japanese food and were looking forward to trying this restaurant but we will not go back.

As soon as you get in, the waiter -who is not Japanese- asks you to rush to order because the kitchen will be closed soon. Well, It's Saturday 13h30. Why not let's order quickly. Finally 5 or 6 clients will arrive up to 30 min after us and they will be asked to rush as well. Perhaps they should decide... More

Unfortunately we did not manage to try the kitchen because although we had made a reservation one day before and we arrived there on time, the waiter pretended to have not noted down our reservation. Apparently, they did not respect the reservation and our table was given to other people who came without a reservation. So in case you want... More

Miso soup and katsu curry - both great. Must return again and try more. The service was great and the food was good and authenic (I have visited Japan). A bit out of the way from the centre of things, but well worth a visit.

I went there with my family on a Wednesday evening. It was not full at that moment and we were welcomed by a kind waiter who only speaks a bit of English and French. We ordered an assortiment of sashimi and yakitori, both were excellent. Especially de sashimis. We can feel that the fish were fresh (and we are used... More

If you want to find something reminding your last trip in Japan, or just discovering the typical food, Izakaya is the typical place. At noon, you can get special lunch menu for around 12€, tea included. If you arrive early, you might have the chance to get a bento. In the evening, you have the full menu, like in a... More

Izakaya is a small restaurant right next to Place Flagey. They have a limited menu but serve very good fresh fish/food. It's the concept of a Brasserie - only japanese style. You even have the opportunity to watch them prepare the fish. The only downside I would see are that the quality of the service very much depends on the... More

We want for a romantic dinner, we reserved in the morning and when we arrived they said that there was not table, only two places near the kitchen. Only when we insisted they magically found a real table. The food was ok (maybe a bit expansive) but they should clearly invest in a better service.
