I'm a big fan of bento box (lunch menu) provided during lunch time. The box comprises different dishes and it's very reasonable price! This is a sort of Japanese Pub restaurants, therefore don't expect an excellent service.

Good enough to call it authentic Japanese unlike the millions of sushi joints, but there are other places more deserving of 5 stars for their commitment to perfection. The service however was friendly, the typical closterphobic atmosphere you'd expect from a real Japanese restaurant and...More
The place would probably close down if a serious hygiene inspection took place..the food was not bad indeed, but the service was probably the worst I experienced in my life; arrogant waiters lacking basic hygiene and manners. Cherry on top: when asked for the detailed...More
Izakaya is a well-known lunch joint, I have friends who recommended that place, but I just had an awful experience there. They open at noon but in 20 minutes their main lunch offer, the bento box, was finished (?). yes, the place did fill up...More
Both my mother and I were craving Japanese food. We shared a sashimi platter and each followed with a dish. Mum: tempura set. I: soba tempura. The usual condiments were served prior to the meal and there was tea on offer. I finished it all...More
I've come to this place because it's supposed to serve the best Japanese food in Brussels (from reviews I read online). The food is indeed very nice, but relatively expensive. But I was very dissapointed by the staff: they are all super unfriendly. We had...More
There are a few undercover politeness rules that you need to bear in mind before judging them, e.g.: 1. Kitchen as exact closing hours, 22h at night which means they literally stop serving and start cleaning 2. Reservations are a must and be ready to...More
This place is exceptional : very easy-going atmosphere but excellent Japanese food! The sashimi is just delicious and other typical Japanese dishes are properly well prepared. I go there once per week on average and there's always something new to try. Staff is relaxed and...More
Yes they don't have the best ramen and sashimi in Brussels but if you like grilled ox's tongue, chicken's kidney and other similar stuff, you cannot get it elsewhere in Brussels. They taste good and are reasonable in terms of price.
I'm quite picky with Japanese but was totally satisfied at Izakaya. Don't go for sushi, but the sashimi, sobs, gyoza, yakitori and all other small played we tried were awesome. If you're looking for authentic Japanese in Brussels, definitely try Izakaya!
