In the centre of the Hague a quaint french Bistro offering consistently very good food accompanied by a good wine selection. Traditional, relaxing french music is normally being played the background and the owner is unobtrusively attentive and entertaining.

Frencher than French - in a good way. That is how to best describe what must be one of the best and authentic French restaurants in the Netherlands! The food is good - albeit not exceptional (although, when I think about it, the 'foie chaud' and 'fraises' were exceptional) - but the principle reason for the 5 point rating is... More

I had lunch in June and sat outside to watch the world go by. The food was very good, the service discreet, the (French) wines appropriate, the scallops done just right. I do not normally approve of music in restaurants but this quiet, unobtrusive, traditional Parisian music just added to the atmosphere. A quiet corner of town for a relaxing... More

I often walked by this restaurant and thought to make a visit once after seeing the appealing menu and the various certificates on the door. Food was ok-ish, but served with parsley sprinkled on the plate, which to me is very last century. Also the foie gras was not properly trimmed. The high price is not really justified.

A real nice evening at the Bistro de la Place. The owner (Marc) guided us through our choices for starter, main and wine. He and his staff team were excellent throughout. The team is French focused from food to wine to their backgrounds. We thoroughly enjoyed the night.

I love France so much I want to retire there, the menu of Le Bistrot is very tempting and the setting terrific. Until....the food arrived. True, the green salad was good, but the treat of real onion soup never materialised resolved by a tasteless mush. Then the cocquille St Jacques came, no flavour (€26.95 for this course) some leeks, a... More

Dear Customer, I expected to find your comments regarding your last evening in my restaurant. You say you love France and to retire there, think about it again. Wel… 1. You came in, and wanted the 2 of you to seat on a 4 persons tables, and was disappointed not to be able to sit there. 2. Then the table... More

My husband and I had dinner here with some business associates and really enjoyed ourselves. We had the escargots as the appetizers and they were delicious. I ordered the tournedos as my main dish, which was a little bit chewy. I ordered it medium rare but it wasn't as tender as I expected it to be. Location is perfect.

We had a great friday evening with a singing host. Great french entertainment in a familiar atmosphere. A well composed menu and an excellent wine list. Centrally located restaurant with an interesting interieur.

Excellent menu a La Carte, the environment is just lovely, the service cannot be more professional and quick. A simple pouched egg with truffle croutones turned magically into a very nice gourmet dish. Well done!!!

We come to this place quite often and have done so for over twenty years. Always a pleasure! The restaurant has a large menu of French Bistrot classics that changes with the season. Evergreens are dishes like Terrine Foie Gras, Escargots, Tournedos Rossini and Creme Brulee. The seasonal menu could contain game for instance. There is always a collection of... More
