The key to evaluating a stake place is "compared to what"? Compared to any decent steak house in New York, this place is totally mediocre. Compared to other steak places in Leiden it is okay. Just Meet is better overall, but steaks there aren't great...More
Beside the place's steaks are very good, this place has unique sauce (presented with the complimentary bread) and they have marinated butter (cannot recall came with which dish..but we put from it on the steak and it was very tasty). They have one vegetarian dish...More

Great steaks and I like the new interior of the restaurant! Good location and a simple menu with enough but not too much choice.
Been to Leiden a couple of times and always make sure we eat in El Gaucho. Top draw food and excellent service. Be sure to book in advance.
