Nice relaxed with authentic food

We booked this restaurant through the fork, as we had a nights stay in Zaandam. The restaurant is located in the Russian district of Zaandam, it is large so can seat around 70-80 people although the distance between tables is small, with most being located against the wall. There is a diverse choice in the menu, with 6 different types of Momo's available. We went for the chili and tandoori versions with the tandoori arriving on a sizzling metal plate, both delicious. Then the set vegetarian menu of Thakali Khana, which is nepalese ,served on a traditional metal tray providing a nice mix of tastes. I would go for a curry next time so I could try one of the Naan breads. A choice of bottled beers (affligem) and wines reasonably priced. I would return if in the area again.

We were a mixed group of vegetarians and meat eaters every single dish we had was authentic, delicious and unique. The rogan josh was rich and hearty and the saag paneer was creamy and fragrant. Even the papadums were some of the best I have had - perfectly cooked and crunchy not a single bit greasy. The momos were delicious. The samosas also fragrant and delicious. Our server was warm and friendly. The restaurant itself had nice muted atmosphere. I really cannot emphasize enough how happy we all were with this restaurant. We will definitely be back!

Nepal - as close as Amsterdam

We wanted to try something new and be surprised, so we booked a table at Mr. Momo - attracted by the Nepalese/Indian label- We left the choice to the friendly, competent service and were not disappointed. The dishes were very well cooked and exotic due to the sometimes unusual spices - not too spicy and very digestible. We could also get something from this flavor in Germany

Price/quantity not right, quality fine!

What can I say? The quality of the food is good, but the price-quality ratio is quite skewed. I ordered the "Thakali Khana Set Lamb" and got only 4 small pieces of lamb in a stew, served with rice, dal, sour chutney and a little spinach, all for €25.00 For that price I expected more, and certainly not just 4 pieces of meat! My table companions had the same experience with the chicken and vegetarian dish. The interior was reminiscent of a clubhouse that organizes bingo evenings. Hopefully they will adjust the portion size and make the ambiance of the restaurant a bit more pleasant. Like I said, the food itself is fine, but the quantity is just too little for a normal meal compared to the price!

Really great food, nice place. Too bad it was almost empty, 4 tables of 2. We were still working on the starter, when the main course came already, really way too fast. Like we had to hurry. Price on menu differs from price on the bill, was not yet adjusted. Food is really delicious but otherwise they miss the point, very unfortunate.

A good meal after a long day.

After a day's travelling, airports, security queues, passport control queues, railway stations, ticket machine queues and trains we needed a treat. And did we find find. Mr Momo's first caught our attention by the divine aroma coming from within. A peaceful space with a decorative style all it's own. We got the impression that this was somewhere the locals come to dine as much as anyone else. Fantastic service, beautifully cooked food and a lovely atmosphere. The perfect end to a very busy day.

Very tasty and good Indian food, including garlic naan bread, which is highly recommended. If you like curries you've come to the right place. Good portions, it doesn't seem like much, it's really enough. I really appreciate that spicy is also just spicy, for non-spicy people there are plenty of non-spicy dishes on the menu. I hope Mr Momo continues to be a success for a long time.
