We have only been here for drinks. That seems to be their specialty. On sunny afternoons, you are lucky to find a seat outside. There is a nice view of the Spaarne river, although I was distracted by the entrance to the underground parking, watching the cars nearly hit bikers and pedestrians as they exit :)

Fantastic food, always a special beer on tap and great location on the river Spaarne. De Waag is as far as I know the oldest building in Haarlem. The terrace is great when the sun is out (Obviously) and the atmosphere is good. Be early to have a seat.

We hit the Waag on Friday which was Fish Night. The chips (Fries) were perfect. The fish was... More

This is actually more a bar-restaurant than just a restaurant. In summer you can sit outside and watch boats go by in the canal. In winter it is a small place where you can have a drink and (wedn, thu, fri) a simple, but really tasty meal. Which is also very affordable. The place is an old wirgh house of... More

Situated in the center of Haarlem, this is a fantastic bar set in a historical building. Great friendly staff, fantastic food (Wed - Steak, Thurs - Sate, Friday - Fish and Chips), great beer and all for a fantastic value price. Make sure to call and reserve for one of the sittings (6 - 8pm, 8pm onwards) as its generally... More
