Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.

Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Every time I go to Amsterdam I go to this pub. Why? Simply because it's the best in the city. It's located in the centre of Amsterdam, just behind the Palace at the Dam square. They have nice outdoor seating and when I step inside it feels like I am back in Ireland! It's a pub as a pub should be. The interrior is really nice and cozy and the staff is really friendly. They serve you a perfectly poured glass of beer and delicious food. You don't need to worry when your glass runs empty because they are alert and bring you a fresh one when you want one. They have a large selection of beer on draught and bottled. Last time I tried the Guinness IPA they had on draught and it was great. Nice and refreshing. Maybe I should stop writing so you can go over there and grab a pint yourself.... I am sure you'll feel at home!

A group of 10 of us went here for supper and to a person the reviews were great. The service was friendly and helpful. The menu gave a good selection of food but if you go have the stew it is very nice and the Irish bread is fantastic. Wish I had found out about this place three days before!

We went to O’Reillys a couple of times on our weekend away first just for a drink and second time we had a meal there whilst waiting for pick up to airport. On both occasions we found the staff friendly and welcoming. Food was a good selection of pub grub and tasty we had the Guinness pie and a burger and chips. The Guinness was kept well and a nice retreat from the rain

Came in for a bite to eat and a drink after walking all day. Found ourselves a seat and waited for a while for somebody to come over (no menus on table) until my boyfriend asked at the bar. The person behind the bar huffed and gave him some. Waited a further ten mins for someone to come and take our order, as after watching a few other tables we figured out this was the type of place they come to you- you don't go to the bar. No luck. After 15 mins, boyfriend went to the bar and ordered us two drinks and two burgers. Specifically asked for one burger with no sauce as I'm allergic, and the bar person was very unhospitable with him, constantly sighing and chatting to her coworkers as my boyfriend was ordering. He came and sat down and we both agreed to leave after the food, as we were getting bad vibes. Dark, grotty pub where the staff were seemingly ignoring us whilst smiling and serving other groups. Burgers came out, both with sauce. Boyfriend was going to ask them to remake it, but I said I'd rather not be even more on their bad side. I couldn't eat it unfortunately. He said his tasted of nothing, but the chips were ok. Nobody came over to give us cutlery or ask us how our meals were. Finished food and drinks, waited another ten mins to pay even though countless staff walked past us and could see we were finished, so I called one over and asked to pay. She snapped "When I'm ready I will come over" and came over a few minutes later. Didn't say thank you after we paid, just walked away after giving us our receipt. Save your money and time for a bar who actually wants you in there.

Great little spot. Myself and my wife called here every day at some stage on a 3 day break to Amsterdam. Lovely staff and a nice atmosphere. Great pints, live coverage of Soccer, rugby and F1 and we just had a beautiful Sunday roast there before leaving for the airport. Be sure to call here. Manager and staff were very nice. Thanks for the hospitality

Always great! Once again enjoyed Sunday roast: delicious meat, potatoes, lots of veggies carrots and cauliflower today, and the tasty Yorkshire pudding-all with gravy. Grandma could not have done it better. Thanks for a cozy place to visit and eat Sunday roast in middle of Amsterdam!

Visited here with group of friends from UK & Holland for one day in Amsterdam. The food was really nice when it eventually arrived after almost two hours. The initial order was lost. Patiently waiting with drinks and everyone enjoyed themselves. Sadly after spending significant amount between us over several hours the staff asked us to keep quite as we were upsetting a nearby couple out for a “quiet meal.” Perhaps not the Place for a quiet meal and I would have expected perhaps would be a bit more realistic & supporting in their expectations. Disappointing and certainly not somewhere I’ll be back too.

in the last 18years, we/friends have used this bar and we been made welcome by the Manageress and staff. in that time we had no complaints. The food has been excellent, the table service was excellent. They can be very busy and take your order, you might have to wait a little while, but you do get it your order. You can book tables and time you are going to be there and its waiting for you.

We went here (4 of us) for the Sunday lunch we'd heard so much about. It didn't disappoint. The owner also came to chat with us for a little bit, adding that personal touch. It's a typical Irish pub - family/friendly feel!

Great atmosphere and service here. A friend and I went to O’Reillys for the recent rugby international between England and Ireland. It was totally jammed! However, full credit to Annie, who is an amazingly warm and hospitable Scottish lady. She found a seats from somewhere, and really looked after us so well . She was so calm in the midst of utter chaos, and made us feel so welcome. There was a great atmosphere and ended up chatting to Scots, Italians, English and obviously Irish. We will be back again.

I went to watch the Rugby 6 nations game Ireland v England on Saturday, the pub was jammed and I couldnt move, the poor staff were screaming at people, one of the girls was trying to serve food and she was screaming at people to move, she ran out of the bar puffing to get air and she looked like she was going to kill someone. There should have been a bouncer or staff to stop people coming in it was so uncomfortable I left after 20mins. I saw people querying to get drink and as soon as they got to the top, were told its closed use the other counter, it was ridiculous no one had a clue, the pub manager should have been co-ordinating the crowd its was a health and safety issue. not a experience at all really disappointed

Best breakfast I can find in Amsterdam. Served hot and quickly and with a friendly welcome. Music is a bit loud and this is a busy place because of it’s central location but if you can put up with that first thing in the morning the. Trust me and head here for brekkie!

Barman looked at me like I had ten heads when I asked for a blonde ale” it’s ale. He was Irish and never heard of it!!! (I’m Irish too) and younger barman abused me for saying wasn’t I next to be served. Lovely bar. Pity about the rude staff.

Amsterdam’s buzzing hub, with its sprawling network of tram rails and a seemingly constant flow of tourists and commuters, yields convenient access to some of the best sightseeing, shopping, and street life in Europe. Closest at hand are the Royal Palace, the quaint shops of Haalremmerdijk, the pedestrianized zones Kalverstraat and Dam Square with popular neighborhoods such as the Red Light District, and the Canal Ring hardly more than a moment’s stroll away.
