We recently returned from Amsterdam. On our first day having walked along canals and streets for miles we came across this cafe/bar/restaurant. The service was fantastic and the food very good and moderately priced. We liked it so much we went back a second time...More

Great coffee, croissants and apple juice. This is like stepping back in time to the 1940s. Very rustic interior. Don't expect a speedy service - but that suited me as I enjoyed watching the world go by in the sunshine.

Sorry we didn't find this amazing cafe until our last day. Stan and his crew were super fun to chat with. The fondue with blue cheese was amazing as was the ambiance and drinks. We had the best time and look forward to visiting them...More

After reading reviews here and being quite close to this place, we decided to pop in to try the pancakes. We were met with a groan by the kid behind the bar and when asked about lactose free milk, he came across as if it...More

We were starting our 'Food Tour' & we early so had some very nice cofffees. They also served our first dish on the tour of 'Poffertjes'(small puffy pancakes with butter & sugar). These were so good, I will very back for another taste.

This place is just across the canal from the Anne Frank House and has amazing food. I went there twice. I actually would have gone there three times, but I ran out of time. Try the tomato soup or the goat cheese salad.

Lovely cosy authentic cafe next to the canal. Fabulous pea soup and legendary apple pie. Only open for breakfast and lunch but worth a visit

We read about this restaurant in Lonely Planet and decided to stop there after touring the Anne Frank Haus. It's about one short block away. I had a grilled cheese with tomato sandwich which was excellent. My husband had the turkey bean soup which he...More

Met by great enthusiastic staff. Prompt delivery of drinks. We had a WHOLE hour before our time slot at Anne Frank museum. Never the less we ordered basic food so as not to be late. FIFTY minutes later mature cheese and bread and a bowl...More

One of Amsterdam’s most preferred outdoor markets and
some of the city’s favorite watering holes are but two
of the many reasons to save ample time for a stroll
through this especially convivial warren of narrow
streets with its unfair share of quirky shops and
quality galleries. Historically a haven for the
working class and emigrants, these days the Jordaan is
better known as an enclave for artists and designers.

Cafe de Prins is to be found on one of the most beautiful stretches of the Prinsengracht. Across from the Westerkerk (Western Church) and the Anne Frank house, on the edge of the Jordaan, it is surrounded by history. This... More
