Had the chef's menu. Asparagus month in Holland and the chef went to town on every dish. Worked very well though we might have enjoyed a break from the lovely vegetable by the last dish. Great service throughout but you sense it's a little understaffed...More

A very nice place located on the most beautiful canal. The food was amazing. I found the price of the wine a bit too expensive.

Really enjoyed the food at Envy. Very creative take on asparagus throughout the entire menu. Apart from the meat maincourse (slightly chewy beef and pork cheeks), all dishes were perfectly executed and a pleasure to eat. Service was unfortunately very slow and not particular attentive....More

Came over for lunch after reading good average reviews online, so it's important to have a few points clear ahead of your visit: - the menu is a surprise and you don't select any dishes, only how many you will have. We selected 4. There...More

Visited Envy the last night of our stay in Amsterdam. After 4 weeks travelling through Europe, my husband and I had many good food experiences, and a few that were outstanding. Envy promised to fall into the outstanding category, but fell well short. We opted...More

Dinner here is a real treat during Asparagus season. The food was great and we enjoyed to see the kitchen preparing the dishes behind their 'bar'. Such a beautiful location at the Prinsengracht. Thanks to Ilja and the other staff, we will be back soon!

Unique experience starting with its location and fantastic decor. Glass fronted fridges housing fresh produce and excellent wines makes for wonderful ambience. Tasting menu calibrated at 4 5 or 6 courses makes for sensible choice depending on how much you want to eat. The menu...More

Fifteen restaurant in Amsterdam is an exciting offshoot of Jamie Oliver’s famous Fifteen London, a great example of one set of dynamic, generous people inspiring others to act. In this case, the ‘others’ are Sarriel Taus and Coen Alewijnse who have created this combination restaurant and chef’s school in partnership with Fifteen London to benefit the struggling young people of Amsterdam. So what’s it like at the dining end of the equation? Very cool. The arty cosmopolitan style includes vibrant graffiti-scrawled sheet metal walls contrasting nice with the smart, sleek modern lines, designer seating and white table cloths. The restaurant seats up to 200, yet can still feel right for an dinner a deux. Each night a tasting menu is on offer, inspired by Jamie Oliver incorporating only the freshest regional produce. The modern Italian menu changes weekly and includes one of Jamie’s favourite antipasti to start, a first dish of fresh pasta, gnocchi or risotto, second course of meat, fish, poultry or game, and, we’re quoting here, ‘a wicked dessert’. A wine tasting menu is available to match the food tasting menu, or choose your own from the excellent list.
