I came here for lunch today. We managed to find a spot as this place is usually very crowded. I enjoyed a pumpkin soup (soup of the season). Quick staff and great atmosphere.

The very attractive premises drew us in. This is a place for the locals to enjoy an early evening meeting and drinks, or supper in the first floor restaurant. Our meal was hearty and very welcome after a day's travelling and walking. The wine list...More

Right next to our hotel, we could pop in for a coffee/drink and watch the world float by. Quite expensive, but when you're on holiday, it doesn't matter too much!

Cafe de Jaren opened its doors in june 1990 as one of the largest cafes in Amsterdam, sporting an entire new and unique formula. The concept is mirrored in its spacious and light-rich architecture and interior decoration, as well as in its pleasant, non-pushing atmosphere. The large building features a spacious cafe on the ground floor with an international reading-table, a pleasant restaurant with large-choice salad bar on the first floor, as well as a superb canal-view terrace.Situated right in the centre of Amsterdam, Cafe de Jaren can be easily reached by public transport.
