We found this on TripAdvisor's recommended, walked across town to find it and ended up disappointed Very narrow with two tables outside, we ordered a menu but they mixed up the food and gave the wrong meal for the wrong person

Restaurant is very cosy and you really MUST make a reservation (we emailed according to the contact info on the website) as seating is limited. I had the combo plate of hutspot, boerenkool and zuurkoolstamppot with house sausage while my vegetarian husband was essentially given...More

They have all the traditional Dutch comfort foods here - and they are amazing! Our first meal in country this visit and it was great! I recommend this to anyone looking for good food. The ambiance is traditional old Dutch too and really completes the...More

I walked 45 minutes to find this restaurant (allowing for wrong turns), and when I arrived it was full. It's a small place, and I had tried to book but hadn't given 24 hours notice. I thought I wouldn't be able to try it, but...More

Read the reviews and had to try this restaurant on our recent trip to Amsterdam. We didn't have reservations the first night we tried to go, so while there we made reservations for the following night. The restaurant is small and only a few tables,...More

We chose to eat at The Pantry because it's close to Rijksmuseum and we wanted to try some traditional Dutch food. If you decide to visit this place, try the Hutspot :)

We went here for our first night in Amsterdam. We chose two of the three course specials so we'd have more to try and loved everything. We say outside which was very comfortable and the service was excellent and friendly.

Loved this place. Felt Dutch and presented as pretty, down-home restaurant that could double as your grandmother's eclectic dining room. The wine list was diverse, the food came in good portions, and we could order off of the appetizer or main menu for our entry....More

Very good food. I would eat here again. Soup was a little too salty for my taste. Generous portions. Reasonably priced. Good place to eat if you've just stepped off the canal cruise. We had reservations, place is small and very busy. Budget about Eur...More

Easy to find, and only 10 minutes from our hotel and the big museums. Recommended by our hotel, and a very satisfying choice. Would return.

Description
The Pantry Imagine a restaurant version of the successful TV show I Love Holland, and that is what The Pantry is like. This cosy restaurant near the Leidseplein distinguishes itself with its typically Dutch atmosphere and traditional old-Dutch dishes. Hospitality is important. The staff understands the dining and hospitality business and have worked here for years, during which the recognition of this restaurant has been ever increasing. The Dutch living room atmosphere is enhanced by the use of lampshades, Delftware and old paintings on the wall, complemented by the background music. The Pantry works exclusively with fresh, homemade products. Its location in the Leidseplein neighbourhood makes this an ideal restaurant to eat before catching a theatre show or movie. The doors open from eleven in the morning, so it's also a great place to go for lunch
