It has a set menu costing 60euro per head for the food, without the possibility of choosing the menu (except for one of two small things) the rest is decided by the chef. The setting is stunning within a beautiful green house and vegetable garden,...but we found the service took too long, the food was interesting but not delicious - I love vegetables so the fact that is was mostly vegetarian was absolutely not a problem, just not as impressive as I found the reviews made it out to be.More

Definitely something new for me in Amsterdam! De Kas define themselves by stating "picked in the morning, served in the afternoon", which is immediately apparent upon entering their restaurant. Located in a greenhouse style complex within the Frankendael Park, the spacious venue has multiple compartments...housing kitchen, bar, dining area and, of course, greenhouses growing fresh food. Offering a pre-selected weekly menu, determined by season and produce available in their facilities, De Kas served a four-course lunch; with optional extras available, such as oysters. You can taste how fresh the food is in each serving, and knowing that the additional time, thought and effort has been specially put into selecting and serving this meal makes the experience particularly unique and enjoyable.More

It was quite some time ago that we had lunch or dinner in De Kas, but being here for the 10th (?) time, it was again delicious! Friendly staff, good service, spacious seating, a nice stroll through 'de kas' itself and very delicious, tasty and...original food/combinations! After 15 (or even more?) years, still going strong.More

Was nice to taste different vegetarian dishes, tasty vegetables and fruits and creative flavours, would definitelly recommend it. The employees were nice and the place is beautiful surrounded by nature and the greenhouse, but the service was a bit slow and waiting time too high....Overall a nice experience, perhaps a little overpriced but worth the visit.More

We dined for lunch on recommendation from our waiter at Sagardi in the city center (worth a stop for great Basque). We were drawn by the concept of hyper-local produce that dictates the menu. The setting is an old community greenhouse in a park that...was converted to a restaurant. The greenhouse and surrounding garden is where they grow some of the ingredients for the meals. The restaurant is beautiful, bright with natural light and perfect to highlight the surrounding park. Food was fantastic. We were treated to several complementary starters, followed by a lovely four course lunch. Flavors were amazing. If there is one complaint, it was that our lunch took 2.5 hours. Service was great, but we sat waiting for each course for longer than we would have liked. Recommend you give it a try.More

Poor communication towards freelancers. Not reliable, unreasonable and very arrogant. Would not recommend this place.

After an hour drive from Makkum in the Friesland province meandering through the eye catching landscape of the Netherlands finds the rural giving way to the urban landscape of Amsterdam. The walk to this hidden gem of an establishment is well worth it - from...the lush gardens to the mellow ambience of the interior. Very much a plant based lunch, the convivial De Kas team add that extra appeal. Despite only opening at 12pm, our online 12:15pm booking was certainly needed with all tables full an hour or so later although you wouldn't know with the cavernous ceiling masking the general hullabaloo. De Kas is doing everything right in a most unassuming way - long may it continue. Goed gedaanMore

If you go for 6 dishes they appear to have a weekly menu of 6 options and the restaurant will serve 4 of these on any given evening. The order comes in random apart from one which is a main which is just before the...2 deserts. The amuse bouches were very very nice as were all the mains. We had a lovely deserts especially the goats cheese cheesecake. Onlyu minor gripe was waiting a little while for a bottle of wine at one point but really thats me really reaching out and trying to find any flaws with the evening. Would highly recommend. Anyone wants to know how much, 2 oysters, 6 course meal, 2 glasses of wine, a bottle of wine (all at the low end price range) came to around 100 Euros a person. I have eaten in a lot of hi end restaurants and this was more than reasonable. 5 stars highly recommended.More

My new favorite restaurant in Amsterdam! It prides itself on serving creative and absolutely delicious food mostly grown on site or at their farm, complemented by some meat and seafood sourced sustainably. But at the same time, they have no issue to cater for vegetarians...or any other requests. You also get extremely attentive service, that is friendly, efficient and can provide great recommendations. I can't wait to be back again very soon!More

I don't remember. Just go and let yourself be engulfed by the atmosphere. In case it doesn't have one, I think you can almost walk it to Frankendael.
