This is a nice cafe popular with locals and tourists. The food is good, with vegetarian options and you can sit on the decking next to the canal and watch the world go by. The staff were very busy when we visited but still attentive...More

The interior of this bar looks very cosy...but it's also the perfect place to sit beside the canal on a warm evening. Relaxing time with a beer, bread, hummus and cheese....and just around the corner from our apartment. Perfect! Will have to come back when...More

This restaurant is busy because it is across from the Anne Franks Museum but I am so glad that we found it because I will dream about the warm Goat Cheese Salad with Butter lettuce for a long time. I even went back the next...More

Not sure how we heard of this, probably Rick Steve's but we were ready for a break from walking. Got a canal side table. Couple coffees, a good sized snack plate for my wife. Just absolutely delightful. Good typical european service. You aren't gonna go...More

Cute little cafe located on a canal. Sit outside and relax in the beautiful Jordaan neighborhood. We enjoyed lunch and a few cappuccinos while soaking up the atmosphere.

You will find this cafe bar on Egelantiersgracht canal close to the Anne Frank house. It can be busy but the atmosphere, drinks and food are all great. The upstairs room is brilliant when the weather is not. You can watch the world go by....More

Located not far from the Anne Frank museum, and right on the canal, makes this cafe bar, very popular. The wine delivered was delicious, and quite cheap. The sun was shining, and it was a great afternoon to watch the boats go buy, and people...More

I absolutely love the ambiance of this bar/cafe. You sit right on the canal which is so peaceful, but the inside of the cafe is beautiful, historic and unique as well. Absolutely loved this place. They take credit card.

Thanks for the nice words. Love to hear you enjoyed the stay in Cafe 't Smalle!

One of Amsterdam’s most preferred outdoor markets and
some of the city’s favorite watering holes are but two
of the many reasons to save ample time for a stroll
through this especially convivial warren of narrow
streets with its unfair share of quirky shops and
quality galleries. Historically a haven for the
working class and emigrants, these days the Jordaan is
better known as an enclave for artists and designers.

I would definitely go direct to the restaurant. Many places have set their small evening menus by early afternoon and you can call and set time --or stop in on an afternoon stroll to set a time later that evening.

This ancient and typical brown café ( founded in 1780) is the place to be when you are looking a nice cafe in the Jordaan. We serve a large variety of drinks and snacks, a nice breakfast in the morning and a lunch you will remember. We are located close to Anne Frank house, the Western Tower and the Cheese Museum.
