The best I've had in Amsterdam, but start with extr injera because you will want more than the one it comes with to clean your plate.

Found this lovely cafe on my last night in Amsterdam. Fascinating decor, friendly, helpful staff, African music all helped create a relaxed but vibrant atmosphere. Lavish dishes to be eaten with fingers and pancake, washed down with African beer from a coconut shell. Really good fun.

The rest of the vegetarian dishes were also out of this world. Eeetcafe Ibis is a good place for the world to start being enlightened with caring for the animals. You are what you ate and so why not also take best care of the body temple and help you think better. 2facetruth.com

Traditional Etiopian cuisine featuring Injera pancake with several side dishes which one eats using his hands. Atmosphere on the 'alternative' /simple side. Nice honey wine. Informal attitude.

My friends and I visited Amsterdam this past month and enjoyed a wonderful meal at Eetcafe Ibis. I loved the shared, communal style of eating and felt like a real local that night. Intimate and relaxed, this was a great way to escape the tourist traps closer to Centrum. Whatever you order, be sure to enjoy some Ethiopian coffee after... More

It's a long time since I first went to this restaurant and I wasn't quite sure what to expect but I was pleasantly surprised!!! It was even better than it was before. The food is excellent and so is the service. I took along a friend who had never actually eaten Ethiopian but she was totally amazed at the flavours... More

We went for a regular noting special meal and we love this kid of food. Very tasty and good prices. Service is good and very kind. Both the vegetarian and meat dishes are great. All serviced with nice lentils, veggies, peas and potatoes nicely spiced.

Fantastic choice for African food in Amsterdam! The atmosphere was cozy, the service was excellent, and the food was delicious. I enjoyed the spicy pumpkin soup and the beef stew with injera. They give you about 8 little side dishes to go with your main, which were all awesome. Highly recommend!
