Good bar atmosphere, good food, good staff. What you want more. As an expat living in Amsterdam I found this the best bar in town so far. Good mix with locals. Recommended

Excellent red pepper soup and very good burger. Nice atmosphere, great music and very nice waitress. Located in a peaceful area close to museum square, near tram station.

We stopped here before visiting the Van Gogh museum, a really nice choice of lunch items including a wonderful burger and fries, with the lovely March sunshine we were able to enjoy sitting outside watching the trams and cyclists pass by. A really nice place to dine.

We went with a group of eight and they just could handle it. We waited an eternity for our food and when it came there were no apologies. 7 of us got the good but 1 person had to wait an extra five mins, at least at this point it was explained there would be a delay but still no... More

Nice place for "western" food (pizza, burgers, etc). Food was great, service was good, beer was cold and fresh. There is a pepper oil at the table and it was really good as well. We were able to eat quickly (during a show, that was important to us) and ot is close to a lot of attractions. Would recommend.

On a rainy New Years Day stumbled across Martinot Very busy. Warm welcome from the charming owner and his lovely girlfriend. His brother is the Chef. Had a top notch burger and Rita had chicken panini All very good. A few glasses of excellent wine and gin and tonic ready to face the rain. Oh maybe one more!

We stumbled on this place by accident as we thought it was part of the larger restaurant next door. Right on a corner so we sat at the window to do a little people watching while we ate. Quiet and rustic with very attentive and friendly staff. The food was exceptionally well priced and the portions were generous. We opted... More

Been going here for years, but on the last visit the menu had changed and food was better than ever. Don't know if they had a new chef. 'Sloppy Joe pizza' was really tasty as were the fries and mayo... Staff are always friendly.

Staying in Museum Quarter (Museumkwartier)

Neighbourhood Profile
Museum Quarter (Museumkwartier)
Top sites to see in this attractive and affluent part of town include the Rijksmuseum and the Van Gogh Museum, to name but two of the highly acclaimed museums of the aptly named Museum Quarter. And if you need a break from all the fantastic art, there’s the Neoclassical Concertgebouw music hall and Vondelpark, the city’s largest park. Shopaholics and luxury brand connoisseurs will love exploring the high-end shopping destinations of PC Hooftstraat, Van Baerlestraat, Cornelis Schuytstraat, and Jacob Obrechtstraat, where even the shop window displays are of museum quality. In the evenings, when the museums close and the daytrippers head home, the area becomes a quiet oasis of calm with a sophisticated and urbane tone.
