A great find. An oasis of peace in the bustling city of Amsterdam. Lovely 'old school' coffee and cake shop. Our strawberry tart and lemon meringue tartlets were devine. Coffee served with a lovely little madeleine.
Beautiful little Tea Room, excellent service from entering to leaving with very friendly staff. Me and my partner had a tea and coffee, the chocolate cake and the raspberry meringue cheesecake. The cakes were delicious and reasonably priced. This is our 9th time in Amsterdam...and this is definitely on our list of places to return.More
The best cakes I have ever had! Probably french inspired, these cakes are a tastebuds explosion that will make your journey in Amsterdam sweeter than ever. The owner is a lovely man who will be delighted to run through all the cake and chocolate selection...leaving you with a 💯-satisfied experience. The chocolates deserve top rates as well! We went there twice within two days: addictive!More
This small, beautiful patisserie, decorated in Empire style, was recommended to me by a local, someone who’s lived in Amsterdam all his life. He was right! Buy absolutely amazing cookies, pastries, or chocolates to take away, or sit at a table in the small raised...area and enjoy a treat along with a perfectly made expresso or hot chocolate. The staff is delightful, professional but with a personal touch. A haven of calm in the bustle of the city. I stopped by every day for my espresso macchiato, which is graciously served with a small delicious cake. I also bought some cookies to take away and they were wonderful!More
The decor of Pompadour is that of a days-gone-by tea room, soft colours, woodwork, raised podium for chairs and tables, no or very soft music - a lovely atmosphere. The chocolates look superb, bite-sized, a huge variety. The patisserie is delicious with little works of...art in tiramisu, framboises with blueberries on top of light and fluffy cream, caramel with nuts etc etc. Service is quick and welcoming.More
'Kinda expensive' was some rather tame heading from another review. You pay for what you get. Here you get really good chocolates and to die for cakes. It wasn't that expensive and the hot chocolate I had to drink was wonderful. Smallish cafe, but lacked...a bit of atmosphere, otherwise the products were super.More
looks great, nice atmosphere, the cake was just amazing. it was very hard to dic something from all. if you are around, it worth it.
Kinda of expensive chocolates and pastries. It was good, but not amazingly good. Wish I liked it more.
If you love chocolate, come here. And even if you don't. The cakes are incredible. Lovely small cafe in the 9 Streets area, most definitely worth a visit.
We visit this chocolaterie every time we visit Amsterdam and always enjoy the visit. The drinks are lovely - especially the hot chocolate - and the cakes are wonderful, with an incredible choice. We always take home the chocolate covered coffee beans.
An unforgettable visit, Pompadour are putting so much thought into every detail and the result is amazing
Amazing pastry and hot chocolate Staff very Dutch friendly Prices are very reasonable compared to place in Red district bad quality
Excellent quality, service and taste. Friendly service and cozy place. Strawberry cake was delicious
Don't settle for mediocre deserts in Amsterdam -- visit Pompadour! In addition to excellent espresso, we enjoyed a piece of chocolate cake that is best described by the photo I'm attaching to this review.
