1 MICHELIN Star: High quality cooking, worth a stop!
This terraced castle is full of character and historical charm. From the herringbone parquet flooring to the impressive chandeliers, this place is a classic restaurant at heart. The views over the Baroque gardens and the Jeker Valley are simply stunning! An aperitif or coffee in the historical Marl Caves is an experience in itself.  With a feel for the zeitgeist, Robert Levels breathes new life into French classics. Vegetables are harvested from his own garden (an appealing vegetarian set menu is available), and the sauces are always outstanding. A masterpiece in its own right, his foie gras terrine is served with a compote that provides a refreshing sweetness, along with a rich veal jus vinaigrette. His jus made from seasonal vegetables lends depth to the crispy blade steak. Chef Levels tempers the intense flavours of classical cuisine with exciting exotic touches, giving vegetables the attention they deserve and focusing on palatability. A castle fairy tale par excellence!

A great and creative cuisine that is indeed worth a visit. Very creative and sometimes with very nice flavor combinations. On a single point maybe a little too much "l'art pour l'art" (Wagyu butter really doesn't make sense). But worse, if one wants to keep the Michelin star, then work will have to be done quickly on the black brigade. Seriously below par. Lack of training? Too bad, because in the end and despite the exquisite cuisine, you still leave disappointed by all the irritations gained from a seriously inadequate, unprofessional, service. Because of the kitchen we will try again in a year in the hope that someone has intervened.

The total picture of the experience was 100% complete: - delicious dishes and yes... the eye of the dishes also says something about the qualities/skills of the cook - the entire decor (castle, halls/terrace and furnishings) invites you to enjoy a delicious meal and a true culinary treat - the staff was also really attentive and tried to serve the visitors in every possible way. - it is an added value that the chef comes to chat with the customers and introduces his dishes

We had an excellent meal at Chateau Neercanne. The tables are far apart so that guests are not bothered by each other and the staff can easily walk around them without bumping into you. Pleasant, relaxed atmosphere. The menu consists of beautifully presented, creative dishes, with attention to the structure (mouth feel). Surprising but successful combinations such as sweetbreads with squid: delicious! Friendly, attentive and competent service who is well informed about the preparation of the various dishes. Good value for money. Minor points of criticism: with the exception of the Barbera d'Alba, we found the wine arrangement less convincing. We would have happily paid a little more for better wines. And some dishes were, in our opinion, too salty.

The frame is beautiful but the maintenance does not seem to have been taken care of (lots of weeds, view of site materials through the window) The staff certainly does their best, but does not come across as very professional. If you ask how much the wine package costs for lunch and whether wine can be drunk by the glass, it turns out that the reception lady is not aware of this and has to inquire!? The food was certainly refined, except for the langoustine which arrived on the plate flat and unappetizing. After our communication, it was suggested to replace it with another dish. We refused this for the simple reason that we had to wait at least 1/2 hour between each dish and this would certainly cause an even longer wait. Our complaint was not taken into account during the settlement, or for example no extra coffee or pousse café was proposed, a missed opportunity...

The setting of Nerkane Castle is truly exceptional, and I was really looking forward to discovering this restaurant. My family had been there several times and raved about the food, telling me about the best restaurant. Seven of us went, and unfortunately, all seven were disappointed this time. It was my first visit, and I really wasn't impressed. The service experienced many shortcomings for a starred establishment. Several dishes left half or three-quarters full. I find that for a restaurant of this standing, the chef could come and ask the guests what the problem was. There is in particular a dish where everyone sent back a full plate. Personally, I don't find this at all normal in a Michelin-starred restaurant. The Pouce Café in the caves was magical, but the rest of the meal, for 249 euros per person for six courses, was really exaggerated for the quality we had. It's a very expensive restaurant, and I expected a different level of service and quality of food. I don't think I'll go back. My family, although accustomed to this place, thinks the same thing.

Celebrated birthday in this beautiful castle. Warm welcome in a fantastic room. Aperitif: 2 glasses of champagne, 1 free for the birthday boy or girl :-) Despite this nice gesture, the only point of "criticism" is the price per glass, being 22 euros. Before we "officially" started dinner, we received 5 appetizers, each delicious! Six-course menu with matched wines. I'm going to be brief about this: GORGEOUS! Really enjoyed the first to the last bite. This restaurant is highly recommended for those who want to experience a wonderful culinary evening in a romantic setting. You will definitely see us again!

Stylish and chic, but in an accessible haute cuisine (*) atmosphere, dined in a restaurant located in perhaps the most beautiful location in the Netherlands. Chateau Neercanne has all the grandeur you would expect from a wonderful night out in and around Maastricht. The food and wines presented are bold, completely balanced and are served with all egards by the attentive and friendly staff. The Limburg sparkling wine of St. Louis Martinus, aged 12 months in the Oosterschelde is the showpiece of the evening! Insanely good!

The lunch was exquisite, the location great and the service most friendly. The price was, even for a restaurant with one Michelin star, at the high end: €575 for 7-courses including wine pairing for two people. What was unfortunate is that all the time was set aside for lunch first, but that the last two courses had to be ragged because lunch threatened to turn into dinner. The staff was already busy with the preparations for the next guests; the attention for the seated guests slackened and the rest was over. The coffee was more or less crunched on the table and where the other tables still got friandises, that was omitted from the last tables. This logistical error of judgment does not suit a restaurant of this level. That includes the sommelier who walked around with a jacket full of stains. Even after being discreetly alerted to it twice, he kept walking around with it.

After a longer absence, we have made a reservation again at Chateau Neercanne. Fortunately, the location, decoration and atmosphere were unchanged, but the menu (Prestige; four-course) that we were offered was of a completely different order. The start with the many "amuses" was a hit in taste and presentation accompanied by a nice glass of champagne. The starter and main course were of the same high quality and the matched wines offered were of high quality. This all ended with a beautiful dessert and a nice coffee. We will come back here.

We celebrated Mother's Day with three families and have enjoyed a remarkable lunch on the shady terrace of the restaurant of Chateau Neercanne. Last time I was there was more than 30 years ago and I wanted to relive the splendour of the location and share it with my extended family. We thoroughly enjoyed the exceptional menue and everyone - from the youngest 13 year old to the oldest 81 year old - agreed that this was the best cullinary experience we enjoyed as a family. The service was outstanding and very thoughtful and attentive, the presentation of the meals impeccable. The Chatea Neercanne went above and beyond to serve the coffees and dessert in the wine cellar in a cave setting, candles were lit to provide a beautiful atmosphere before we drove back to Hamburg. We so much look forward to come back and celebrate with you again!

Recently we had the privilege to dine at Restaurant Château Neercanne, a historic location known for its refined cuisine and breathtaking surroundings. The 7-course dinner we enjoyed here was an unforgettable culinary experience, thanks in part to the perfectly matched wines. From the moment we arrived, we were warmly welcomed and escorted to our table in the beautiful restaurant, located in a truly unique castle. The ambiance was both elegant and inviting. An experience that exceeds all expectations. From the exquisite dishes and matching wines to the excellent service and beautiful location, everything contributes to an unforgettable evening.

Not much to say about the quality and variety of food as such: it was absolutely brilliant, and I rarely say that. The price tag for the 7 course meal was very reasonable at 155 euro. Service was very good, the only thing they need to polish is the way they say farewell to the customers: after we paid, we felt absolutely forgotten and even had to find our coats ourselves, as no one guided us towards the exit like it is usually done in places of such level. But okay, may be they were very busy, so no big deal. Yet there was something else which definitely left a bitter aftertaste in the mouth. In the very beginning of the evening you are offered to start with either a cocktail or a glass of champagne. Note, that at this moment no wine list is on the table, so there is no way finding out about the price, and asking directly how much it costs would really be uncomfortable and a true faux pas. So we went for a glass of champagne each. So follows the dinner. In the end we receive the bill: 43 euro per glass (trust me, it was rather a sip). Again, just set it together: 155 euro for 7 courses, and 43 euro for a tiny volume of champagne, which didn't even taste that good to justify such price. My point is, I really don't think this is either fair or polite to sneak this into the bill in the way it happened. Please increase your dinner price if you feel your ends do not meet, but do not use such questionable practices. It is the first time I will be recommending a restaurant to friends (and I indeed will be recommending it, it is really good), saying "Go there, but double check the price tag on everything you are offered"

A wonderful experience... we celebrated our 44 years of marriage and were spoiled from start to finish... we chose a 2 course lunch and in the end we had more than 4 courses of fine, tasty dishes... various refined amuses start where you taste every flavor indicated in the ingredients... tantalizing. Then the fish and meat dish, also very refined and tasty, and to top it all off, a wonderful grand dessert with coffee afterward... all this in an outdoor ambiance, cool in the shade of the large parasols with a beautiful view. We couldn't have made a better choice... CHAPEAU definitely worth a star.

A top restaurant in a beautiful location. The menu has 5 to 7 courses and can be booked with or without an accompanying wine arrangement. Delicious food in attractive surroundings with very attentive service. The only downside is that the wine package includes wine, water and coffee. Various coffee varieties were offered with delicious chocolates. However, it was not stated that this had to be paid extra. On the other hand, the coffee and delicacies were served in the cave opposite the restaurant. And that is highly recommended. Definitely worth a Michelin star.

As returning guests, we are surprised every time by the brigade of Chateau Neercanne. This time to celebrate our 25th wedding anniversary. This time too it was an unforgettable experience. The delicious seasonal dishes and a number of novelties stood out beyond discussion. The recently awarded Michelin star is more than justified. The welcome was more than warm and we were neatly escorted to our table. Chairs are neatly arranged, there is a separate stool for the ladies' bag and there are personalized menus on the table. The new house cocktail is highly recommended, the sommelier is excellent and the cheese cart is a must for enthusiasts. The chef excels in creativity and knows how to combine seasonal products (syringes, sauerkraut, beetroot) with classics such as scallop and turbot. The new pastry chef has prepared a truly unique Christmas-themed desert. Too bad it is only served for a limited period. Neercanne manages to positively surprise every visit and it would not be surprising if it were rewarded with a second Michelin star.
