About
Cafe de Zwaan is since 1901 a household name on the market square of Maastricht. A lively cafe with excellent regional cuisine. We also have a nice Etage overlooking the market square and old City Hall for private dinners with groups. In summer, enjoy a drink and meal on our cozy and spacious terrace. We also have live music on a regular basis. Special eyecatcher is our walk-in fridge with more than 200 specialty craft beers. Walk in and choose a special beer or get advice from our beer sommeliers. We have good contacts with craft beer brewers so we always have limited editions and other very special beers. Our kitchen staff also cooks some of our dishes with craft beer, our so-called "beer

The restaurant has a special, very pleasant atmosphere. On the menu you will find a suitable lunch for every taste. The prices are reasonable and not too high. I find it interesting that the menu recommends the right beer for every meal.

Sat outside on a nice day for relaxed dinner with about a dozen friends. Waitress was very helpful and funny. Had two different draught beers and the local Maastricht specialty - a very tasty beef stew (“Zuurvlees”). Accompanied by delicious fresh chunky fries, of course.

Vlai or pie (we had cherry, with two forks because they're generous) seems to be the thing here, washed down with coffee, around 10 or 11 a.m. So this Wednesday (market day) we joined the Limburgers in their favorite occupation. Ringside seats to observe the...More

This place stands out from the eateries encircling main square of Maastricht by the fact that it is not a tourist trap, but rather decent restaurant with very good food and nice views at the city hall. We ordered seafood salads and were not disappointed....More

Tremendous beer list. 200 beers in bottle though some were missing tonight. Our food was disappointing: the Maastricht stew was too sweet for our taste and the accompanying ham was pretty tasteless. So was the Guinean fowl though the kriek sauce was lovely. So, go...More

You can find this restaurant at the "Markt" where you can also find the Town Hall of Maastricht. Good inexpensive food as well as very good service. Abundance number of different beers available.
