When we are looking forward to a nice evening with nice friends, good food and a nice ambiance in walking distance we always go for Onder de Linden. Both the owners and staff are nice and the menu is above the Sneek average. The restaurant tends to go for Frisian specialty cuisine and uses local products. Prices are remarkably democratic.... A day out in Sneek involves also looking for a nice place for lunch. After visiting the "Fries Scheepvaart Museum" and the heritage liquor shop of "Weduwe Joustra", it was already high time for lunch; the veranda restaurant "Onder de Linden" made an attractive showing. Furthermore, the restaurant was still packed with customers, so they must do something right. Against... More

We came here before our museum visit. The atmosphere was pleasant and the view of the town center was interesting. I had the tomato soup and my husband had a traditional dish of the area which was quite good. It was a layered concoction of meat and potatoes topped with fried eggs. We both had hot chocolate with whipped cream... More

Their mustard soup is delicious! We also ate a nice salmon fillet dish. In addition, this restaurant is located in the center of sneek and provides very good service.

Eating here was a joy for "ever". We tasted a "twaalf uurtje". It was filled of a great taste and a the authentic smile of the owners who served us made this meal complete. Try it out if you visit Sneek.

The fantastic mustard soup is what I remember most about Onder de Linden. We went for lunch, and it is a very pretty restaurant. The staff were most helpful and friendly. The lunch menu was more than adequate. The sandwich I had was good, but the mustard soup! I would go back just for that!

Nice restaurant. Food is good, especially the fish entrees. Mustard soup is the BEST!!! Staff was very friendly though service slow. Dissapointing deserts.

My husband and I ate lunch at the restaurant for lunch. We enjoyed our time in the cool breeze shaded by the linden trees and umbrellas. We sandwiches and coffee. The staff was pleasant and quick! Overall we had a great meal in nice surroundings.

My friend and I did a little road trip around the Netherlands over the past few days, and ended up in Sneek in time for a late lunch. We found ourselves here at Onder de Linden and had a lovely lunch. We were quite proud of the fact we managed to half decipher the dutch menu and as soon as... More

Review: The tarrace is a sunny evening terrace in the city-center and locals as well as visitors use it with pleasure. Service is quick, correct and easy. Tables on terrace rather small to eat on, so enjoy the cosy interior for a tasty good meal inside. Negatives: In winter time restaurant can be a bit 'empty' (without any good reason... More
