Stopped off at the Royal Oak mid way on one of our walks. Great spot and lovely pub serving really hearty tasty meals. The Liver, Bacon and Onions my choice was exceptional. My husband chose the Fish and Chips and highly recommends this too.

Have been to Royal Oak numerous times and went again on Father's day. Service was very quick and food is consistently good. Lovely spot for a walk afterwards down the Tissington Trail. Will be visiting again soon.

Visited two consecutive nights whilst staying nearby. Warm welcome and friendly staff. There is a very extensive and good value menu; the food was well presented, well cooked and very generous portions. Banoffee pie was outstanding!

A fair mark for the food would be four stars, although it is a bit pricey. The service was desperately slow, we waited forty minutes for the sweet course. Yes it was busy, but not that busy.

This pub has a certain amount of character, but is not one of those brilliant atmospheric English Inns. However, it scores very highly on the food and the service. Food is fresh home cooked pub food, of a high quality and very generous helpings -...More
