5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed yesterday NEW

We had a large group dinner and breakfast here last summer and returned this week for breakfast for 8 on a long weekend in the Peaks. All elements were top quality and cooked to perfection. We arrived as it opened at 10am, the open fire was blazing, staff were ready to go and the service was incredibly friendly and welcoming.... More

We ate here on New Years Day after a lovely walk along the Tissington Trail. The menu is extensive - excellent service. I would go as far as to say the best pub food I've had in a long while. Keep up the good work. We will definitely be back when next in the area.

Been a few times recently and it never disappoints. Food is great, home cooked fare, there's a well stocked bar, its a lovely cosy environment and the staff are brilliant. What's not to like! Only advice would be to book ahead - it's right on a popular walking route and it's really popular all year round (and rightly so!)

Came here after many recommendations and so glad we did. The welcome and atmosphere were first rate. The menu and specials on offer gave a huge variety of choices. The service was attentive and friendly and the food very tasty. Will certainly visit again.

I first visited the Royal Oak back in 2014 while on a cycling holiday. Three of us popped in for a snack and a pint and found it to very accommodating and friendly. My latest visit with my partner was also part of a short cycling break in the Peak district, but this time we visited for an evening meal.... More

Children dog and adult friendly pub excellent menu but book to save disappointment especially large group's. Gluten free option which went down well with to intolerant member of the group. We went into the banquet room downstairs due the size of our group and we had a super time with out feeling we were disturning other dinners with our noisy... More

I'd like to praise the staff at The Royal Oak for the excellent service offered yesterday lunchtime. I discovered the pub last year when I took my eight year old camping nearby and thought I'd make a return visit with the rest of my family (I live in Hathersage). I was hoping that the quality of the food and service... More

Been for tea tonight and wow the food is amazing, had the fishermans platter and oh my god it was so nice, my friend had steak and ribs and hers was also really nice, the service was excellent, didn't have to wait long for the food or to get drinks, will definitely be going again, thank you

Very busy evening in the Royal Oak, testament to the good reputation for good quality service and food. Main meals came on time enabling all guests to eat at the same time. Food was very good although a few more vegetables would have been good, the quantity and quality of food was very good. Staff were polite and attentive, without... More
