Called in on a Saturday afternoon and as usual the service is welcoming. We had creamed vegetable soup and a purse of haggis ,needs and tatties both delicious. This was followed by smoked haddock in a mornay sauce with creamed mash and was to die...More

We come here regularly for the Sunday carvery. It is generally very busy so booking is advised. Good value and good selection with friendly staff and our kids love it too.

Visited with my partner and young son. The meat was super tender, fabulous side dishes and everyone was very friendly. Best carvery I've come across by a long shot.

This was a superb restaurant, found entirely by accident after failing to find one my hotel recommended. The service was friendly, prompt and helpful. The food arrived piping hot on hot plates and was sooo tasty!

Opted for the Sunday Carvery (buffet). Great roast potatoes. V good Yorkshire puddings, gravy a bit on the salty side, turkey breast a bit dry. Had a pint of cold beer with it, so that offset the saltiness and dryness. This place has improved in...More

I've been a few times, the restaurant is popular but I found the portions to be small and overly expensive, The upstairs bar is sporty like but didn't serve draught beer to my taste therefore I give it a miss.

I don 't usually go to carveries, having been disappointed in the past. However, River Inn is the exception. Wide choice of food, excellent quality, cheerful and helpful staff and reasonably priced

We book for family events and New Year's day Dinner. Forgot to book this year and it's fully booked. Fortunately I managed to book The Fox and Hound along the road. Food will be excellent there too as it has the same owner. We'll miss the River Inn new years day.
