We go there a lot and it is one of our favorite restaurants. Is very nicely located and the food is excellent. Typical Swiss food in an authentic environment with lovely staff. Great value for money!

We just had our first dinner at Geeren and liked the friendly service, cozy and authentic setting, and of course the food. By Swiss standards the prices were reasonable. So close to the city & easy to access by bus or car. Well worth a detour. We'll be back soon with visitors.

Been in Zurich twice and Geeren is a must-visit place if you want to have very traditional Swiss food. I visited in Nov and I was lucky to have their seasonal menu. I ordered boiled rippli and bacon, the pork is very tender and with the smokiness is light but noticeable. The dish supposed to come with potatoes, but I... More

Pork lover's dream. You will have to wait for a table, but worth it. Hardy Swiss seasonal dishes. Went during Metzge with everything pork. . .

Traditional swiss restaurant with traditional swiss food, with very good and friendly service, and good prices. In Autumn they specialise in "Metzgete" (fresh pork dishes) and Winter in Fondue. Location is a bit off the beaten track, and in the midst of forest area but excellent for a long walk after lunch!

I went there for lunch the other day. Aside the standard menu card several seasonal dishes were offered with several meat options and side dishes such as roesti and spaetzli. Actually next week the Metzgete season starts, also called pig roast. It seems the restaurant is famous for that! Under pig roast is understood (in Switzerland and in the extreme... More

This restaurant is a hidden gem... Not located in a touristy place, but super tasty food, nice typically Swiss atmosphere, friendly staff. We had the Spätzli and Rösti: delicious! Good value for your money, too. Definitely a place worth visiting: you'll definitely go back there.

My husband used to come here as a teenager, and brought me here on one of my first visits to Zurich. The food is excellent and they have a nice back patio in the summertime that is always pleasantly full. Closest to my heart, the staff is incredibly kind and down-to-earth -- they now take cards, I believe, but the... More
